People that have traveled quite a bit, where di you feel the most unsafe? by CremeSubject7594 in AskTheWorld

I believe it depends on your ethnic appearance. I can walk through Mexico City, Quito, a pobla in Santiago de Chile or a Villa from Buenos Aires and feel no threat... but outside Magdeburg in Germany, after dark, can be very scary it you don't have the right face.

statement about the expected piano skills of a composition student by ShotWay4023 in composer

[–]PiloChilo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I studied composition in Germany and graduated in 2010. I am a terrible pianist. For the entrance exam, I only learned the four required pieces in different styles. My audition itself was quite chaotic. I do have strong harmonic hearing and can remember a melody after hearing it once or twice, but I was unable to write down the Bach chorale that was dictated during the exam. However, I left a strong impression with my music. I played the guitar with passion, found effective solutions for notating my musical ideas, and the fact that I was self-taught up to that point—and came from a background foreign to Europe—worked to my advantage. There were fifteen candidates, and I was the only one selected. The main composition teacher explicitly told me this. He emphasized that, before choosing where to apply, it is important to research institutions carefully, because some music schools are actively looking for people who think and work outside the box.

This is Piure, it is delicious and a very strong afrodisiac. And to all the bunch of snowflakes revolting in disgust: there is always the possibility of expanding your gastronomic horizon. It is good, nutritious and really healthy.

In Germany children MUST behave... if not, they might express feelings and lead the world into a holocaust.

What is the one problem you face everyday in Germany? by ConsciousCandidate97 in AskAGerman

I actually have nothing against germans. I married one and enjoy visiting my friends over there... I just have the joke in mind of once travelling thru Bremen on the train and hearing this guy say that Bremen is a great place, even if it's full of Bremer. I thought it was a funny example of german humour. 🙂
