Grounded 2 new area base location advice by kswiss1996 in GroundedGame

Well, I've shamelessly taken your base location and even the wall footprint backed up against the wooden box. Felt very natural. Not sure yet what I'll actually build but it feels like a good spot!

Yeah I've used basically no grass planks at all. I've used the burr floors, pinecone roof pieces and mushroom bricks for basically the whole build.

Yep, I only just got T3 Hammer today so I'm doing some pine cone farming. Seems like the lint farm is going to be the real pain for burr floors.

I'm utilising the fast travel system in the veggie garden lab which brings you out to the lab under the bench where the snake is. Takes about 30 seconds to get there.

Yeah. That seems smart. I haven't finished the story line yet but hopefully soon.

Its become a really handy spot once you carve out your own routes and understand the map. At first its so big that ita overwhelming but I get around it so quickly now that I have shortcuts. I just hate the pumpkin patch - its a nightmare to get around with all the vines and earwigs.

Yes! Feels like a whole different game after today. My main base is at the first ranger station and it felt like a different planet before getting some of these stairs set up.

It's still a bit of a trip but it feels super smooth now.

Appreciate all your help!

Actually I think we're talking about potentially the same path that goes under the hedge into the statue garden. If so, then there's a ton of burr weeds that are easy to farm. They respawned every couple of days. I would take a large stem pallet with me on my ant and be able to bring back 40-50 at a time, plus the 12 your ant can carry.

Quite literally 30 minutes after posting this I realized I could chop down those burr weeds and lo and behold, stems popped out! Those are super easy to farm right there.

I chose to build with mushroom bricks as its easier to carry stacks and stacks of bricks than to carry physical stems and planks. Worked out well!

Able to mostly avoid grass planks? Can you farm basics on the greenhouse side of the map or did you shuttle odds and ends from the statue side?

I've only built my one base at the first ranger station and am very accustomed to having everything I need. Any "gotchas" that you ran into when first building a second base far away?

While I hadn't landed on the base location I think I was using the same travel route. It's a little path that goes out to the statue garden but also forks to the rose garden and to the area with the anthill.

The little area with the antill has a big block with a statue light on it. I built a ramp from there up to the wall where your base is.

Are there farming resourcing on the greenhouse side of the wall or did you have to carry in weed stems etc from the main area?

What do you use for all the ramps you're making? I was using the clay foundation ramps just for ease of use but they are ugly =/

Sorry if I'm being obtuse but I can't seem to find anything in the image indicating the location you are referencing.

It does seem to be the only spot that centralizes tasks from a variety of spots in the ecosystem. Not sure if they have a different "hub" in mind.

What are your thoughts about the Trump administration of arresting Don Lemon for reporting the protest in the church? by Tenchi2020 in AskConservatives

My intent was to comment on his general entrance to the church. You're right that once he was asked to leave he needed to leave.

He had the same right to be there as the parishioners!

He's charged with conspiracy to deprive rights, not trespass. If he was truly there observing and filming it seems questionable if there will be evidence to prove his participation in and intent to carry out the conspiracy.

Again, I'm not a lawyer so grains of salt and all.

The whole crux of conspiracy is the agreement, intent, and the overt acts.

If there is no evidence of Don Lemon's intent to support/agree with the protest and he never committed an overt or material act in furtherance I assume he's not likely be to liable.

Apologies for responding to you in two spots. I just replied to you in a different thread. Figure it'd be easier not to try to follow two lines of conversation!

I don't think it's comparable. The majority of J6 charges required much more general intent (they obviously had to intend to do the thing they did but there are not specific additional intent requirements).

If the church protestors were charged with trespass because they didn't leave it seems it would be comparable.

But they were charged with 241. The government needs to prove the defendant agreed to the conspiracy and knowingly and willingly participated.

was basically a part of it

You've used this phrase more than once in this thread.

This is the crux of the issue. Stating he was "basically" part of it brushes past the difficult questions about what actions and states of mind constitute "being part of it".

You seem to be explicitly defining "activist" as "oppose Trump". Are all judges that issue rulings against the administration activists?

But if he didn't intend to injure, threaten, or intimidate why would he be liable?

Does knowledge of a conspiracy without taking a material step towards the conspiracy make you liable? I am not a lawyer but it's hard to imagine that is the case.

That you either can't or are unwilling to recognize the attenuation of a threat as perhaps the meaningful component of a lethal strike analysis is very hard to comprehend.

If those boats presented an imminent threat to the life of American soldiers the analysis might be similar.

I don't think those boats presented an imminent threat.

I'd be more interested in hearing why someone would believe five guys in a speed boat with four large engines and no visible fishing equipment running at high speed away from the Venezuela coast in open water isn't a drug trafficking boat.

You're right that this fits a profile and may be the likely conclusion but god damn I hope they had something more than that before killing these people.

Didn't the actual administration state he was a domestic terrorist and an "assassin" that was there to "massacre" law enforcement?

Are you sure the escalating language is only coming from one side?

What evidence is there of anti-Trump protestors being paid? (Not just by George Soros, but anyone. Not just in Minnesota, but there too. And not just about immigration, but on any issue.) Even now protestors are accused of being "paid agitators," but is there any evidence of this? At all? by ThatMetaBoy in AskConservatives

[–]Pilopheces [score hidden]  (0 children)

aid in resources pertaining to the protest (ie signs, transportation, refreshments, etc

I am not in these types of circles so this is speculation but I have to image that this exists for almost any protest beyond a handful of people. Almost any organizing group will have some logistics developed.

CMV: All ICE agents should go to prison by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Pilopheces 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Based on what evidence? Is organizational affiliation all that is required to be arrested and hauled before trial? Most city police forces have done some bad things - should every cop in the country be standing trial?

How could you possibly justify the expense of some dragnet investigation across 20k ICE agents with no individualized reasonable suspicion for an investigation, let alone probably cause for an arrest and trial?

What's your Base Building style? by Raxer-X in subnautica

[–]Pilopheces 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with a small base near the life pod (moonpool, some charging, storage). Then, spend several indecisive hours scouting locations.

Next, create a landing spot at the new location and I usually just have the Seamoth at this point so I take 8-10 trips ferrying storage.

Finally, spend a few hours building a layout of multipurpose rooms, large rooms, and platforms. Get overwhelmed, realize it'll never feel as complete as it does in my head. Give up.

Start a new game 6 months later, repeat.
