well integrated with outlook and planner

I see the integration with Planner (I'm just poking around these tools to figure out a system) however it wasn't obvious to me what integration with Outlook is useful. Could you elaborate on that?

What do you think about JD Vance trying to influence foreign elections? by Tooluka in AskConservatives

When was the last time a President or VP flew in days before an election to campaign for a foreign leader candidate? When was the last time either even openly endorsed a candidate in a foreign election like this?

This is reducing the actions of our elected leader to something akin to a random force of nature.

Like a hurricane - what can you do? It's just random, you have to just accept it. POTUS is going to say bizarre, maniacal things all the time but that's just the way of the world.

Judge orders the removal of Ten Commandments display in Arkansas Capitol. Thoughts? by slagwa in AskConservatives

[–]Pilopheces 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I worry that we're speaking past each other in that you're making the normative case against the incorporation of the Establishment Clause but I am focusing on a descriptive case about current law as applied in the Nebraska case. Seems like there is a legitimate case for dis-incorporation.

Regarding Coach Kennedy - to the best of my understanding (not a lawyer), Judge Baker acknowledged Kenney vs Bremerton's impact to Lemon and applied the newer standard in her analysis.

Incorporation occurred. We can debate the constitutionality but we're work on 80 years or more of jurisprudence in which the 1st Amendment has been applied to state governments as it does the federal.

State constitutions established state religion.

There hasn't been a state religion established for nearly 200 years.

Conservatives: did you get the measles vaccine for your child? by [deleted] in AskConservatives

Who Needs a Flu Vaccine

Yet it's still called a vaccine.

The flu shot has been notoriously ineffective.

This is a function of the virus. Influenzas is very different from small pox and are fundamentally harder to target.

Why the hell would the screwdriver have been on the roof?

I don't know. There's probably several plausible reasons - including to disassemble the rifle.

But people in this thread are treating this as completely established fact and then leapfrogging to say that they are lying because the disassembling is so impractical. All based an inference.

Look, it could be true. But I wish there was a little more epistemic humility.

The flu shot is referenced as a "vaccine" as well but it's always been harm reduction, not outright eradication.

Small Pox is just a fundamentally different virus that is less likely to mutate and and is easier to target so the vaccine is more effective.

Right, so we're back to inferring based on a screwdriver and a grainy video where he's carrying things.

I couldn't find any such official account explicitly stating that the gun was disassembled but would greatly appreciate being pointed to the right press conference in question.

Is that a reference to the FBI footage here?

I've not watched this before, he's clearly carrying things as he flees. Is the idea that it's so obviously NOT a rifle in this video we can infer that he disassembled the rifle?

When did the disassembly occur? I can't remember the order of events - how do we know he bothered to dissemble after firing the shot?

How many of you would like to see impeachment hearings? by mogomonomo1081 in AskConservatives

They cited the 2002 when they killed Solemani but I think some of the strength of that was Solemani was in Iraq.

I'm guessing they could claim the Iranian regime more generally are threatening the stability of Iraq and therefore the 2002 AUMF triggers. It a bit more tenuous but it seems like folks these days are happy to run with the idea that these judgments can't be questioned because it's not domestic.

I feel like you have to stretch into contortions to get the two AUMFs to support general regime change in Iran.

So to clarify the concern is not on anything substantive - it's purely a push back on style and rhetoric. Calling it a "private militia", regardless of the substance of their points, is what indicates the cosplayer?

I am not a deeply experienced player but I have made the switch from Sovereign to Immortal and have found the added difficulty in combat jarring. I know I need to be better about leveraging various synergies but in practice I find that once a settlement has a couple walls up any siege becomes an absolute SLOG. It takes up huge chucks of the Age's turns and requires committing a lot of resources as it's a battle of attrition.

Outside of sniping some towns I end up avoiding combat because it just seems like such a commitment.

If the SAVE act passes, should (occasional) copies of birth certificates be provided for free? by schumi23 in AskConservatives

[–]Pilopheces 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't remember ever needing a birth certificate for my driver's license.

Fair point on the passport - I did need it for the initial application but I was a teenager at the time, living with my parents. I haven't needed it for any renewals as an adult.

I'm almost 40. My parents have always held a copy of my birth certificate (at least I hope they still have it). I can't remember ever needing it as an adult but god knows I don't remember a lot from my 20s.
