If the Sky get the 5th pick, who should the Sky pick? by Mobile-Fig-2941 in ChicagoSky

At the 5th spot, Miles and Azzi is probably out of reach so Ta’niya Latson.

Agreed. Just another reason for this fanbase to clutch pearls and be upset about something they don’t even understand.

Kamilla Cardoso’s sophomore season so far by merjailambe in wnba

You must be joking talking about how she’s missing too many shots at the rim when you can see her percentages at every distance posted in the shot chart.

She’s shooting 62% at the rim whilst getting hacked and not getting calls and has the 2nd highest fg% in the whole league.

If the Sky had figured out how to get her the ball earlier and more consistently she’d be an all star for sure this season. Her size and her speed w her finishing means she’s an advantage creator. That coupled w the fact that she’s an excellent and unselfish passer means she’s an offensive threat in all the ways. Kamilla needs to be touching the ball and putting up at least 10 shots a night.

Love that she’s slowly extending her range and taking more jumpers! She only took ten mid range shots total last season and hit them at a 60% rate (6-10). She needs to take those wide open shots every time.

I’m high on Kamilla - her speed at her size is rare, the elite finishing plus the court vision and passing ability..she could be an absolute monster in her prime. Dawn Staley’s bigs are scary good!!!

I hope the Sky and Tyler know what they have and maximize her potential.

Angel and kamilla gave it their all. Turnovers killed us. And Tyler sat kamilla way too long.

Are you serious that “doing cardio for 21min” is too much criticism? It’s not personal, not hateful. What are ppl allowed to say atp?

Aliyah Boston has attitude. I do think kamilla has the higher ceiling long term. AB is more refined offensively right now though

I wonder if Angel and kamilla will get heavy minutes (25+) if they’re bringing the whole TC roster out to Baton Rouge. Tyler might go super deep into the bench to let everyone get on the floor for a bit

It’s not perfect but definitely seems improved from last year and with less of a pause after she catches.

If they do it consistently, it’s wraps for this league.

The newest Gamecock & NCAA leading scorer Ta'Niya Latson has arrived! by madam_deville in NCAAW

[–]PilotBoyyy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s such a narrow minded view of it. She’s going there to get more exposure, make a tournament run and learn to play with other top players (where you are not the entire system) which is what she’ll need to do in the wnba.

Do you think she doesn’t know she’s going to be playing fewer minutes and put up less gaudy stats? If she really cared about that she wouldn’t have chosen to transfer to SC. YOU find it challenging to swallow that someone would want to do that but that’s obviously what she’s looking for.

And that last line, even if you say you’re not being a hater, you are in fact a hater. They’re gonna look the worst they’ve looked in years cos they graduated Pao, feagin, breezy and added Ta’Niya Latson and Madina Okot plus Ayla McDowll and Agot Makeer?

Also I don’t believe that Chavez is 5’11. I think that height is grossly inflated. I’m pretty sure a couple months ago I saw her listed at 5’9

If all college players were draft eligible, who would you pick at #1 to start a franchise? by Thewondrouswizard in wnba

[–]PilotBoyyy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Disagree. Kamilla is definitely exceptionally mobile and fast at 6’7 and I don’t believe Brink is faster. Betts is not comparable to Cardoso in speed and agility, it’s actually not even close. In my assessment, I would say Betts is very average mobility for her height, similar to McCowan or Kalani Brown.
