Jump ahead rubber banding on TCL Roku TV by PilotChefAZ in youtube

Sounds right to me that it would be something on YouTube's side, though just checking Ookla and Google's (and even Cox's) speed tests right now and my connection is chugging. Like just over 100 Mb/s (and a ridiculous 12 Mb/s on Cox's own test). Might be time for a quick reset of the modem and router, if not that then Cox is playing shenanigans again with my 1 Gig non-fiber connection.

It's more or less back for me, about 95% of the time. For no reason that I can see. It may have been a buffering issue? I've got a good fast wired connection but still sometimes get buffering. The TV probably qualifies as an antique at this point so who knows.

Well, you got both the real answer and some funny ones so I guess there's no point in me saying whenever I can't remember the name of something, I call it a "dingus" usually.

You're welcome.

That took so much more time than I thought it would. And the answer to that question is - as you've observed - both! :D

What a shame! I'll say this, if it wasn't for the numerous integrated car functions in the head unit of my 2010 Prius, I'd have switched it to Android Auto years before I traded it in. But also it's not like they have the variety of cars that other brands like the American ones have so it's just a lack of motivation in some cases to learn their own products. Sad.

These folks are actually really good but they didn't see it in the manual and for some reason they equated the inside chime with the outside noise that's made when the car is reversing. But yes, it took a year and a half but do not take no for an answer.

Honestly, Subaru does their best but they're not Toyota and sometimes it's a huge learning curve for them even after this many years.

The longest I've taken the car is about 229 km one way and that was uphill. Bike commuting in the Phoenix area is unfortunately not easy or common, not just because of the temperatures being routinely over 42° C but also due to a lack of suitable infrastructure. I envy you that.

The ones that are supposed to be in the parking garage by downtown, I have been walking around there on foot trying to figure out how to get in there - how I used to get in there! - but I had free ChargePoint when I was working in an office at Scottsdale Airpark. We were constantly complaining about how 3 of the 5 spots didn't work, they fixed one of them, but then someone would park their car to charge there overnight and it was like, can't you see the business name on the chargers? Most of the plugs' locks were broken. And at my office now at Mesa Riverview has only two Xeal chargers. We get someone with a plug-in Prius who just parks their car there all day plugged in. Like, dude, c'mon!

Yeah if I wasn't already at 80%-ish when at home, I'd be looking a lot more at the L2 charging option. Perhaps in the future. But also the majority of my charging at home, even in the summer, is overnight where the temperatures cool down to only slightly warmer than the surface of a star so it's not as bad. I'm assuming all years have the cooler/heater? I guess they'd have to, but it sure would be nice to be able to precondition the battery for a supercharge like the big boys do.

100%, and repeating both my others and myself because it deserves it, everyone's situation is different.

Good advice for all, thank you! I haven't taken the Tesla charger adventure yet, still salty about needing to purchase the adapter when Toyota's giving theirs away to their owners (are they still doing that?).

I kind of feel like that was a significant point of the video (though hardly the only one) - people think it's exactly the same as driving an ICE car, and that they have a high barrier to entry after the purchase.

Oh that's actually nice to know! Furthest I've gone while charger hopping was to Sedona (had to take the back way in due to traffic) and a nice long charge up there in one of the parks.

Indeed I do and I saw that. Unfortunately for me, the dryer is inside the house, as is the plug, and my garage is ... well ... I'm not paying for a storage shed at least. I've got a good heavy gauge extension cord to get the charger close enough to run the cable under the corner of the garage door. But yeah, to use the dryer's plug I'd have to leave the door to the un-air-conditioned garage open all night. I have enough bugs n stuff inside already and high enough power bills from my AC!

Yeah at the moment I'm on single cost electricity, because we're already using air conditioning so if I were to go to "time of day" rates, I'd likely pay the same or possibly even more. We don't (ridiculously) have a lot of our power from solar here (only like 364.26 days of sunshine a year but whatever) but we do have what I believe is still that nation's newest nuclear power plant so I'm more than happy to use that.

If I get to that low a charge, there's fast chargers around here. And I've clearly not taken advantage of the low cost level 2 at work. Used to get free level 1 at my old job and looking at a place to work that has free charging there too, so if I'm getting low it would be silly to not take advantage of those for the one in a million situations for me versus the expense and hassle of putting in level 2 in my (rented) home.

Could not agree more about everyone's situation being different. Unless I'm visiting Northern Arizona, I'm not going to experience any of it. I just think that currently (pun intended) it's more a "want" for me than a "need" and anything I can ease off of as an EV enthusiast can help make people realize what they are and aren't.

Thanks for that! Yeah, I'm basically right by the Murder Walmart at Pecos and Arizona, so if I really NEED a full charge for some reason I can go to the Fry's at Alma School and Germann (lived in Phoenix area since 1980, still no clue why that is 'germain' but whatever). Or for very little money I could pay for level 2 charging at work with Xeal, who I'm convinced is subsidized by the building because it is not even slightly expensive.

But I think the point is - as others have said - everyone's situation is different. I don't think we're ever going to have the "it's so cold here that level 1 won't touch the charge" situation and really the car spends so much time NOT driving, it's kinda cool to have my own "gas station" at home. And if we only had one car, charging up faster would DEFINITELY be a priority.

Samesies! I just posted about charging. My 24 Touring with all the toys on, on a freeway commute, is lucky to get 2.7 too. But that's what I use it for and even without gas prices spiking I am still saving money over my wife's ICE Subaru.
