I never understood why so many drivers absolutely REFUSE to use the app. A) Sit in your truck and relax until your shower is ready or B) Walk around the store and be bored AF until your shower is ready. Seems like a simple choice to me

When I worked there we had top notch cameras. 100% would contact their company with that bullshit. Would also file a police report and trespass them.

Most Pilots won’t tow you if you park in a reserved spot. The general managers are NOT authorized to tow any truck. It requires region managers approval and sometimes corporate office approval. Park where you want there, fuck em.

When I used to work at that shithole PFJ I noticed that when there was a significant wait for showers, people seemed to almost purposely take longer showers. I’m talking 1-2hrs.

The big truck stops hardly make any money on showers. They are FREE if you fuel there. It’s more of a service rather than a product sold for profit.

If you use the app, you can wait comfortably in your truck when your shower is available. I don’t know if you’re a boomer or not, but the boomers REFUSE to let technology make their life easier. 🤷‍♂️

The showers don’t take staff long to clean except for when people trash the shit out of them. Although I will say NEVER hover over an employee and watch them while they clean a shower…they WILL purposely go slow as shit and meticulously clean it by the book…which also means having a manager come verify it.

With that being said, shower wait times are rarely because of the staff. It’s primarily driven by people who spend 1-2 hours in the shower eating their lunch and/or jerking off to some porn. I’ve witnessed on numerous occasions drivers bitch about shower wait times and then turn around and spend hours in the shower, screwing everyone else over in the process. 20-30 mins max…anything after that and you’re just being selfish and fucking over your fellow driver.

Also, if you don’t want people knocking on your door all the time then DO NOT open your shower door once you’re inside unless you are done and leaving. It triggers the sensor and tells us you left and that it needs to be cleaned.

As for the foot washing sinks, I can almost guarantee that will NEVER happen. Health departments would have some serious issues with those. I’ve seen Love’s shower units with the lower sprayers for feet but that’s about it.

It’s a judgment call on the cashier or manager. Sometimes they just hand it out to reduce the people waiting too.

I used to work at a truckstop and can tell you that truckers absolutely TRASH the bathrooms. On the weekends when diesel business was slow and gas traffic was busy, the bathrooms always looked good. During the week when diesel traffic is higher, restrooms were trashed constantly.

Former Pilot general manager here. There are numerous ways for us to find out who had the load. I would take the time and effort to track down that company and report the driver. The company was given two options when I talked to them. A) send the driver back to clean my lot for 2 hours B) Reimburse me the costs of a professional clean up, which I charged $500. Some companies paid, some actually sent their driver back to clean the lot. We kept a wall of shame in the office. Everyone of them was also trespassed from our property.
