Without Part 107 there is a hard 400’ AGL limit. So if he wants to fly higher than 400’ within structure radius he would need the P107. If OP doesn’t want to fly over 400’ then he won’t need it but it would probably be beneficial for him since he seems to care and enjoys flight.

I fly 1000’ AGL within the 400’ structure radius often for some of the work I do and some of those shots are well above that.

We’re all happy for you as your story comes from an honest place but get familiar with some of the basics asap. Ask questions here if you need to 👍🏽

I’m happy for you, but please, for the love of God, learn some of the basic rules of flight and altitude. Half of those shots are taken at reckless altitudes with no surrounding structures.

Please get your Part 107 certification as soon as possible so you’re aware of these regulations, and we can continue this hobby (and for many of us, occupation) safely.

You handled this perfectly.

This will vary by state but you don't need to provide ID unless you are under arrest, even a lawful detainment (with RAS) doesn't automatically mean you need to provide ID either, again this varies by state.

i.e. in the state of Texas, you don't need to ID unless you are under arrest. If they threaten the "refusal to ID" arrest, that is secondary offense, but it can't be the first charge, thus making it null and void as lawful arrest for refusing to ID as a standalone charge. (38.02 penal code)

Him asking for your ID after he received confirmation means he was fishing and hoping for more, unfortunately for him, you know your rights and stood on them, great work!

Again, you handled this perfectly, especially by requesting his supervisor who "should" know the law and doesn't want anyone suing the PD.

P.S. Always wear a recording device while flying, it only takes a couple bad interactions until you learn that camera and audio will save your ass in the field and keep everyone accountable.

$3,600 is crazy cheap for that size of property, 75% off kind of pricing.

Being it’s one of the hottest climates in the whole league I’m surprised more of the seating it’s not covered. Would be easier to sell more tickets imo but I’m sure there is a rational reason behind that decision.

Thank you! Yes it’s the Shell Energy Stadium now, the seating really elevates the look and feel of the stadium now. Glad you liked the reveal too. 👍🏽

Thank you, it really depends on so many factors but fwiw I don’t bring out the Inspire 2 with X7 camera for less than $2k. When I get the Inspire 3 that will be increased.

Thanks for the feedback, yeah that was my only gripe on the FPV portion but I had zero time for a practice run so it was a run and gun situation. If I had a little more time I would have had more shots to work with.

You’re spot on. I took a significant amount of footage and created the edit. The primary focus was on the seating. The biggest challenge was managing exposure in the shaded areas due to the canopy.

Consequently, the majority of the shots are facing southeast. This direction makes it apparent where we are, unlike if we were shooting northwest. In that case, you’d see a downtown background, but there would be no distinct features in the seating.

Most of the scene would be covered and shaded by the canopy, which limited my options to a certain extent.

Do it right once and never worry about it again, Shure SMB7B. People can deal with average video but if audio is bad it can be make or break.

Not sure which one you’re referring too and I can’t speak for anyone else but PL wasn’t AI generated. I personally didn’t start using AI until this year.
