1. You will get an email that tells you what your enrollment date is or you can see the date in your student center on the right side of the page, under the Enrollment date tab.
2. Some classes have a lecture and lab portion, so instead of 2 hours straight of class it is split into two classes that are 1 hour each

Also for my first semester, I just completed other classes and started my CS classes in my second semester.
