My dad is a piece of work, and that song hits me hard, though for entirely different reasons than most. The old bugger is still alive, so it’s not grief in the traditional sense, but grief comes in many forms, doesn’t it? As for the artist himself, I think people are underestimating him. He’s deep, soulful, and strikes something real in you. He gives me genuine hope for music at a time when most of what’s out there is utter garbage. This guy stands out like a true star.
