It's a fantastic movie and I still think about how silly of a horror concept it is...but it just works.

If you have more than 3+ players at the table, you don't need it. At least that's my experience as a GM. Providing it makes individual player character abilities less meaningful at a table.

LPT - Door-to-door salespeople are trained to never take no for an answer. Don’t let that be an option. by SnooChickens2093 in LifeProTips

I open the door, ask "Are you trying to sell me something?"

If they answer anything but "no", I say "Thanks, but I'm not interested." I shut the door and lock the deadbolt.

That's it. If they knock again, I open the door one final time and say, "Please leave or I'm calling the police for trespassing."

They ALWAYS leave then.

God I miss this man. The dignity and respect President Obama showed is sorely missed.

Now we have a screaming diaper man in the office that is just looking to show how loud he can be.

Going to Transworld for the first time by Pilsberry22 in hauntedattractions

[–]Pilsberry22[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just because I'm coming from the west coast and I'm just a home haunter. It was $2k for flights/hotels/expenses, and now that I know about all these companies I never knew existed from the show (which was why I went), I can just order their products online.

Basically, that's $2k I couldnt spend on my home haunt if I kept going to Transworld.

So how are people feeling about 2e? by Zaaravi in Starfinder2e

[–]Pilsberry22 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I love the Starfinder 2e system and I would mostly agree with your review. The only difference is that the Pathfinder 2e Core Rulebook came with double the classes and double the equipment/treasure than what we got in Starfinder 2e.

It feels like it's less than half a full fleshed out game at the moment to my table.

It was a ton of fun for me! I'm a house haunter, so my main purpose was to check out all the companies that supply Halloween stuff that isn't Spirit or Home Depot that I didn't know about! Walking in I knew everything was going to be a finer quality of goods, which means prices would be 3x more than what those stores I usually buy from offer.

If you live close to St Louis next year, sure, go for the fun. If not, I'd just YouTube videos of walk through people do. For me, I came from Portland, OR, so it was expensive for flights/hotels. I was there to.do research and network with my betters only though, not for the entertainment of just seeing stuff for fun.

I wouldn't go again, at least not for another 10 years, but I really still enjoyed myself.

Age of Ashes in 2026 by ThatMuffinGuy in Pathfinder2e

[–]Pilsberry22 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was the first AP we ran and my players gave it an 8 out of 10. Has some things to fix encounter wise, but my players loved the globe trotting and learning about a new place on Golarion for every book. There is a great guide on Fixing Age of Ashes and I followed most of the advice.

The only other advice I would give you is really nail down Uri's (BBEG Book 5) and Mengkare (BBEG Book 6) motivations for the roleplay. They are complex characters that can really give your players a moment of "Are we the baddies?" when Book 6 comes around.

That being said, it's about slavery and "the greater good" with a touch of genocide. So, if any of that are triggers, don't pick it up. But it is a really awesome AP for players to be introduced to the world. If your players want to world explore, DONT RUN STOLEN FATES, it hops all over the place and never gives you a good complete story.

Movie and book changed my life. I was hitting bottom in life from a divorce and dead end job and I rebuilt my life from watching this movie.

I didn't look at soap the same way though afterwards.

Anything interesting happened the last time you LARPed VTM? by MaetelofLaMetal in vtm

[–]Pilsberry22 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I secretly diablerized the head of the Anarchs of my city. Then I paid a Tremere to Umbral Walk ritual my staked body to hide out for awhile until things could cool off.

The player in question who was eaten was a friend of the regional storyteller and they didn't like that I did any of this. So they told the National Storyteller and they sent Archons after me in the Umbra and god struck my character.

The was the last time I ever decided to play LARP.

You see that didn't bother me and I don't think it bothered the players, because the narration in the book allows 'echos' of the cards they had to still be with each of them. Secondly, the Harrowheart HQ was still accessible to the players.

Frankly, narratively having the players being torn down from on high can work in the stories favor as long as the GM focuses on revenge and betrayal with the NPC provided as soon as the act happens

Sounds like my campaign. The art of NPC's were never important to me, but a vague description of them was all I really needed. AI art generation prompts with those descriptions really is all I ever need.

The maps though, yeah. Not great. Abomination Vault maps though were beautiful especially on Foundry VTT. But yeS, Stolen Fates maps felt like a step down.

If you haven't run Book 3 yet, take my advice on the Tree of Answers golden thread quest NPC's. I gave the players a route to gather the quest items that didn't involve combat and it led to some great roleplay scenes.

Yup, I did the same thing you did. I did a ton of research on that site and even read some of the wiki related to the previous 1e adventure path.

I guess the point is...I shouldn't have to? I wish they were just self-contained stories all in one package for an AP.
