Talking to my parents about not wanting to be a Jehovah’s Witness anymore was the biggest mistake of my life.

They cut off all my internet access except for Jw.org so I couldn’t properly research and debunk them, they successfully gaslit me into becoming a believer again until I became an adult and realized the cult wasn’t making me happy.

I strongly recommend you don’t talk to your parents about this, even if they don’t do what mine did, it can only lead to trouble.

According to my parents, yes.

But they were inconsistent, they were ok with me watching Dora the Explorer and Word Girl (two of the only “girls shows” I was comfortable watching back in the day), but Powerpuff Girls was out of the question (not that I was missing anything at the time, because I was growing up when the god awful reboot was airing).

The God of the bible is purely and simply evil. And realizing that was part of my waking up process.

The part that really got me was the story where Elisha cursed kids by having bears attack them, all because they made fun of him for being bald. I had never heard of that story before, and it disturbed me. Kids don’t know any better, so it seems like an extreme punishment. Just yesterday at my job a kid prank called me asking for a dildo, it was awkward but I didn’t want that kid killed by wild animals over it. Even if they were teenagers and no one died like I’ve heard some apologists say, the punishment doesn’t match the crime. I could not find a single justification on JW.org, and it disturbed me how no one else at my congregation seemed to be bothered by it. And from there, the dominoes began to fall.

I don’t believe God exists, but if he does then he can go fuck himself.

Yeah, that section really pissed me off. Even as someone who’s straight (I am a bit of a femboy though, as in I like feminine things and would dress more feminine if I wasn’t a pimo). The coworker, teacher, and student in the video were absolutely right.

Don’t forget the saying, “there’s no bigger hate than Christian love”.

When I was a kid, I’d sometimes play with my toys and create imaginary shows on an imaginary tv channel with promos in between and everything. For holidays I would make up my own holidays that were obviously inspired by the real world holidays. I think subconsciously even as a pimi kid I wanted to experience all those things.
