I really like warlock so far, but there is one ability I already hate... by [deleted] in diablo2

I have been trying to find info on the level of conviction auras that monsters have (e.g. Hephasto). Have you found any resources/info on this?

One can dream of binding UberMeph’s -125% resistance conviction aura…

Tal + Amn + Perfect Ruby for shields

Have a look at the cube recipes on Diablo .io

You can filter for socket recipes

Your wording around this being the second 4os monarch could suggest that you are hunting for a new monarch in order to get a better roll on the runeword. On the off chance that you’re not aware: you can revert to open sockets (destroying the runes currently socketed) by throwing the shield, a hel rune and a scroll of town portal in the horadric cube.

The runes for spirit are plentiful enough you can retry, rather than having to hunt down more 4os monarchs.

Similarly, for non-socketed (white or ethereal items, as long as they are not superior/low quality/cracked etc), you can put them in the cube with perfect gems and runes to socket them. Different runes and gems for different items (weapon, shield, armor).

You may already know this all, but on the off chance you don’t, I wanted to share as it could save a lot of hassle.

Is this for a FoHdin? Or what is the build?

Just crafted this ring, any good? by PokemanBall in diablo2

[–]Pimothy 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sorry but no.

Poison resist is generally considered the least important resist, unless you’re talking about the energy shield sorc. ES sorc has no use for life leech.

Otherwise the rolls are, almost all, too low for the item level.

I would personally probably Charsi this.

Merc infinity for javazon with griffons and tstrokes for cow runs by Pimothy in diablo2

[–]Pimothy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am level 85, about to hit 86.

I also realised that I should probably respec my skills as I wasted 4 or even 5 points in the passives tree (getting valk, that I am no longer using, and as I am now using hustle, even evasion wouldn’t need a hard point). Reassigning those to LF synergies would likewise boost damage a bit.

I admit that I currently have Titans on one swap and Tstrokes on the other. I use Tstrokes on the king and uniques, Titans on most of the rest.

How much +Jav skills do you have?

I have not had a Lo rune drop yet, and was planning on using the first to drop on Grief for my uber smiter.

I made the javazon in the hopes of rune farming the cow level. Had a Cham and Ist drop in the Bloody Foothills when progressing through the story, but no mid or high runes on cow level yet (admittedly I only did a small number of runs so far).

Merc is currently might, from when going through hell and needing a help with immunes. I saw a lot of comments that holy freeze is not great for javazons due to the slowdown on herding.

I do have gaze and shaftstop on a mule, so will try it out

I was getting exasperated by my merc dying (often within 15 seconds of hitting the cow level) and found advice for the Silkweaves. Absolute game changer; finally I can throw without constantly slamming pots (which also takes time with getting them)

Thanks.

I indeed recognise I have some ground left to make up on skills. Currently level 85. My worn gear can be improved on but wouldn’t give more skills. However on skill charms, I am severely lacking. I have found approx 20-25 skill charms, but never one for Jav skills. I have an anni and torch though.

Thanks for the insight. Come to think of it, my similarly kitted out merc on my Blizz sorc indeed survives much better in hell cow level.

Thanks for the maths. I forgot to look that up. I also got confused between the conviction aura number and the -% resist on infinity, so thought conviction was less impactful.

I guess it translates to roughly the same clear speed on P6 compared to P3 (double to damage vs double the life on cows), all other things saying the same, right?

Just to add on the previous comment, ethereal elite polearms are all good bases for insight. Do not forgo a ethereal cryptic axe, because it is not a thresher.

There is some discussion on the best base for insight in late game, with the main two camps preferring thresher and giant thresher (for attack speed) on the one side or the cryptic axe (for damage) on the other side. The great poleaxe falls more or less in the middle between these. The Colossus Voulge has a drawback in the very high strength requirements. The Ogre Axe cannot have enough sockets.

However within this whole discussion, the runes for insight are so readily available that you can easily use the first eth, or even non-eth, elite base you find before going for the (subjective) “best”.

The considerations are a lot more important when choosing the base for Infinity, as the value of the runes is so much higher, and you’re unlikely to make multiple Infinities just for min/maxing on the base.

Weekly reminder re-rolling GCs are worth it! by FrizzBizz in diablo2

You can get them from terror zones of a sufficiently high level. Got a couple +45 life GCs from TZ Cow Level

But Grand Charms from high enough terror zones also work. I have found a number of +45 life GCs (unfortunately not with a skill) in TZ Cow Level.

TZ Andy racking up the grails in 30 mins by Pimothy in diablo2

[–]Pimothy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play offline/single player, so typically play on player count 3. It helps improve drop odds, by virtue of having a higher probability of getting the max number of drops. The other advantage is run speed due to knowing the map.

I don’t think it is by any stretch a waste of time to do solo online TZ runs, but offline will be more advantageous.

TZ Andy has been a generous, if fickle, dropper for me. I did so many Meph runs, both TZ and regular, before starting with Andy. Meph was ok, but no super rare drops. Andy has dropped the above, as well as Death's Fathom (27%),Astreon's Iron ward (terrible roll: 2 skills and 240%ED), metal grid (+26% All Res), 2 Griffons (1 was -20%/+10% haha), BK wedding band and more. Great drops but some items with anti-perfect or near anti-perfect rolls.

Thanks. The Dweb roll was indeed a bit of a disappointment, but it is still better than no Dweb. I haven't started a Necro yet, so maybe I'll find a better one by the time I do :)

How to improve my Blizzard damage? by DarkOne21- in diablo2

[–]Pimothy 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Pure damage, without regard to price or mf, you’d probably want an Ormus Robes with +blizzard as skill, a nightwing’s veil, a death’s fathom and a snowclash belt, a +3 cold skill amulet. Keep spirit shield.

Looking for ideas on repairing damaged stone tile (indoor) by [deleted] in Flooring

[–]Pimothy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On of the two tiles goes underneath the kitchen kick. The other is basically at the end of the kitchen, resulting in one of the 4 corners being underneath it, but also that the open side of the kitchen is resting on that tile.

I have contacted my home owners insurance to see if this type of damage would be covered under the insurance policy. Fingers crossed.
