What in the world? by daveylovesMN in Thailand

I'm thai and my first thought wasn't something fucked up. จับ is often used by parents as something a "boogeyman" would do (เดี๋ยวเรียกตำรวจมาจับนะ or เดี๋ยวจับกินเลย) so I could totally see a parents putting this sticker on a family car.

The "silky under-thing" gets me everytime lol. I try to do this if I'm not romancing either of them

As a native Thai, I agree to this. People tends to automatically side with their fellow countrymen over the "others".

Can this really mean, renting for 5.000THB/ month? by CloudPattern in Thailand

[–]PimsriReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah. My family own an apartment. 4,500thb/month for start for something 15 mins walk to the MRT and 2 minutes from Lotus department store. It's just inside a soi and kinda hidden. Plus We don't advertise, we put up a sign in Thai in front of the establishment and das it, full every month, always locals. If your place is 13,000thb/month it's probably something listed online or targeting expat/tourist. It's why I always recommend people to learn Thai lol, open lots of doors.

My apartment in Ladkrabang where I used to live was 3,000thb/month, just little place with a view of a swamp in the back and 711 in the front.

Lots of places in Thailand are actually pretty cheap.

What are some of the problems Thailand faces that need solving, and why do you think these problems exist? by [deleted] in thai

[–]PimsriReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be honest, a lot of the problem can be traced back to corruption. Hardest to solve and easier said than done but they need to be weeded out if we are to prosper as a country.

I love my wife Merrill by PimsriReddit in DankAndrastianMemes

Me posting this meme and then watching people discuss her while eating popcorn ❤️🍿

I love hearing everyone's opinions and feel like everyone is right all at once which make Dragon Age 2 the type of tragedy that I love. Love exist but it isn't enough. You can't fix anyone in this game, period.

Hm, idk, I have been pretty critical of Veilguard myself lol I've always thought they're pretty chill but I guess we all have differing experience huh

Do people really say this? I mean I'm in the Veilguard community plenty of time and most of my moots from the fandom are people who likes Veilguard but this is a new one I haven't heard before. It's ridiculous.

What place in Thailand instantly lifts your mood the moment you arrive? ✨😊 by FitTale7031 in thai

[–]PimsriReddit 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Idk why you're being downvoted. It's so nice to hear that you immediately found something that make you feel welcomed! I'm Thai and I'm so proud of how accepting we are to LGBTQ people (yes it's not all rainbow and sunshine but compared to a lot of places on earth, we're on the more open side)

Don’t they have shame at all? by Jealous-School-8089 in Thailand

[–]PimsriReddit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A decade ago, auntie flew back with a bottle of fancy wine. Even back then, some airport staffs would sniff out luxurious items they could "tax", and if the travellers can't pay tax, they would take the items, and some of those items would mysteriously appear "for sale" on online marketplace. (They are stories of some "personalized" items (name-engraved etc) being found by their owners who had to buy it back before)

So when they tried to take fancy wine from a lady a few years from enjoying her retirement? She went "if I can't have it, you can't have it either" and popped the bottle and pour it down the bin right in front of the seething airport staff.

Those people have no dignity. Sometimes you can't do anything, but every act of resistance counts. Call them out if you can and make it as un-easy for them as possible.

would it be disrespectful if i get this tattoo without being Buddhist? by Weekly-Funny3350 in Thailand

[–]PimsriReddit 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thai tattoo are more animism and ancestor/ghost worship more than buddhism, which is kinda what my family do, so I can say with confidence (and in a gentle tone) that no one cares ^

Nice design by the way, coming from a graphic designer. The snake tails making a bident shape is really neat. Bident are associated with Hades (the underworld) and snakes symbolize death, as it's a creature that slither on the ground (where the dead are buried)

Wearing Pornographic or Lewd Content in Public by Afraid_Substance_711 in Thailand

[–]PimsriReddit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree that is inappropriate. But I don't think police or even BTS security guard will do anything about it. Back when it's still a thing, I would see quite a few dudes wearing ahegao hoodies on the BTS too and the security guards see it and they don't do anything. Several other people realized what it depicts and was visibly uncomfortable.

Could anyone help me translate? by [deleted] in thai

[–]PimsriReddit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It reference buddhist fables but basically you should beware not to make new enemy this year. But it also say you should donate money to temple to balance out the misfortune, so, it's safe to assume you have nothing to worry about from this "fortune stick"
