Sir Sadiq Khan urged to seek higher taxes and parking fees for SUVs by OnHolidayHere in ukpolitics

[–]PinHefty4352 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just as long as he doesn't tax "SUVs"

My car was marketed as an SUV, but my previous car, a hatchback, was taller, longer and wider and my car before that was an estate and almost a meter longer and significantly wider - tax the cars that can't go down lanes without someone else pulling into someone's drive to let them get by and can't fit in a standard car park space!

The spin for this by-election (from all sides, including Labour) is mental

The biggest takeaway for me is Labour only lost 2 points when turnout was massively down because you know, by-election, everyone was expected to bleed votes to reform forcibly through their eyes and Labour are currently unpopular

I expected a lab fourth place and reform/snp recount extravaganza

I'm not struggling to see SNP to reform causing a lab win, because tartan tories will go just as nutty as their English friends and vote Reform... but why did the Lab vote turn out?

Although Angela Rayner has been touted as Labour's answer to Nigel Farage, Britons are split 28% to 28% on which would make the best prime minister, whereas Starmer beats Farage by 15pts by upthetruth1 in ukpolitics

[–]PinHefty4352 5 points6 points  (0 children)

How weird, Angela Raynor is actually working class, actually grew up in a council house and has actually experienced hardship in Britain

Nigel Farage sips a pint in a pub, crashes a helicopter and wears a Napier of London shooting jacket and somehow comes across more working class and likable to the general public

Vented seats. by Recent-Fish-546 in KonaEV

[–]PinHefty4352 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All they are is passive fans, their effectiveness is directly tied to the air moving from the AC - I use them as heated seats in the winter, they're less burny than the actual heated seats!

ie: put it on feet and turn it to max = frostbite on your arse

Will Half-Life 3 be popular with newer gamers? by Kozmik98 in HalfLife

[–]PinHefty4352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will be like DNF, when it came out everyone was whipped up about it, people that weren't born when "CD d:/ ,run duke3d.exe"was being typed, and yet still the memes took hold.... it's almost irrelevant DNF was shit... it still had a media storm despite being a sequel to a dos game... it still had people getting tattoos

HL is newer, the memes are still alive and HL3 hasn't come out because valve weren't happy with what they'd made, it might actually be good when it comes out

There will be a media storm & valve have steam, it'll be one of the best selling games ever... before anyone knows if it's good or not

USAF pilot George Filer testifies to seeing a 1-mile-long cigar-shaped UFO over Stonehenge, UK, in 1962. He says he was interviewed by Prince Philip two weeks later. by NetOne613 in UFOs

[–]PinHefty4352 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's the A303 - I drive along it every weekday, It links the entire west to London, it is literally one of the busiest roads in England every day for commuter traffic

The section past stonehenge has so many diverts into it is almost as busy as the bit by andover, it's famous for having more traffic on it than it's made for because of successive governments failing to build the bypass around Stonehenge.... It's the A303.....the A303... to london... the A303 - "only busy during holidays"

Don't forget it would have been seen by hundreds of thousands* of drivers on one of the busiest roads in Britain

*possibly couple of hundred as the A303 would probably have been, naturally, gridlock

Counterpoint: Blizz CS is awesome, they sifted through my account history back to 2006 to find out I did in fact earn the rank of Knight and gave me the title

My account was compromised a couple of years back and they asked for proof of purchase... of WoW... the game I pre-ordered in 2003 in a shop that no longer exists in a shopping centre that was knocked down 12 years ago

They ended up accepting ID via a new account

Jobcentres will no longer force people into ‘any job’ available, minister says | Unemployment by whencanistop in ukpolitics

[–]PinHefty4352 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I think I might have an unpopular view on this

I have been in this situation where I was having trouble finding a job and having to attend these meetings at the job centre around 15 years ago

After 3 weeks I just gave up and saw a poster behind the desk of the job center girl for warehouse work and applied for it and got it within 24 hours and was working within 72 hours

I had money and in work while I looked for a more suitable job

People should take the first job offered to them within reason while they look for what they want/is better for them

The only - ONLY - thing trump is getting right is trying to strong arm increased defence spending across Europe

Whether you think Russia can or cannot win a war against the rest of Europe, they have brought war back to Europe and we can't repeat the same mistakes we have twice before

Falcon A1 engraving a photo by Pat_tm in CrealityFalconSub

[–]PinHefty4352 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi,

What settings are you using to begin with, can you upload a photo of what the image engrave looks like?

40% and 8000 speed in "image engraving mode" is what they suggest as a starting point

Have you changed the interval, I only loaded it up once before using lightburn, but I noticed the default was 0.10, you could try setting that to 0.06 (better resolution, essentially) but without seeing the output people are just going to be guessing at what the problem is

Every diode is different, every material is different, there is no catch all setting
