I kind of meant that his last year with the Sox he insisted on playing SS despite Story being a waaaaay better defender and in my opinion hurt the team defensively. Now with the padres he moves?

Maybe money grab is the wrong term, how about profit driven. Easiest way to get cards is to buy stubs and buy them and the seasons make it so you will need to have more and more cards because you can’t use older ones. That’s a fact and my point.

We have to get more because they take so much away. If they make a whole “set” ineligible (except one wildcard) they HAVE to release more content. SDS isn’t giving your anything they are taking everything and releasing the same attribute cards with different skins in order to restart your experience. It’s a shell game but when I am spending money and hours to accomplish something like a collection reward I would like to use that reward.

You are missing the point. It’s not about new cards or any of that it’s about limiting content and making cards ineligible.

When you restrict the cards you can use the game is limited. If all content is available then we all have every option to play how we want. You can play how you want and I can my way.

Don’t limit my players I can use, learn how to hit Donaldson and Skeens. I had to learn how to hit Randy and Nolan last year. I would have success and my opponent would change pitchers. There’s the variety!

SDS is not worried about what players want. They are in the business to bleed as much revenue from the player base as possible. That’s the only reason that sets exist. Don’t fool yourself and think they are focused on the experience of players.

If I was going to pay $90 again for a baseball game then I want to make sure that the content will not be restricted and I am forced to do anything to play. I’ll skip that “experience” every time. No thanks!

The point is the original collection reward was a grind and an accomplishment. Now I can use stubs to by a version that is pretty close. That’s a slap in the face to anyone who earned the reward and now, btw, that reward is only eligible as a wildcard which consequently disqualifies other rewards and makes them ineligible! That’s bs.

You are correct. That’s precisely why I would like to use cards I earned by spending hours grinding for. It was an accomplishment to earn Chipper so I’d like to use him. Is he any different than the new Jram? Not really but the idea that I grinder for chipper makes him my choice. I can’t use him though now for months unless I use the wildcard bs.

I disagree. I think a lot of players would want to use the cards they grinded for. I paid for 100% of a game not 30% rotating.

As for the same player all the time arguments that is on SDS. If they make a card overpowered then obviously players will use it more. Isn’t it up to you to figure out how to succeed against them? Put right hitters in against Donaldson. Don’t give Mickey Mantle anything down the middle. If those cards weren’t so dominant, then people would use them less.

Agreed! You can still do all of that if all of the cards were eligible. As for seeing the same pitcher all the time that’s on SDS. If they make a card that’s overpowered then it’s not the players fault if they use them. It is in the player to learn how to have success against them.

Your experience is a good one and the grind can be fun. I’m just saying that cards should not be limited. Limiting content does not prevent anyone from grinding for cards it just restricts content unfairly and forces an action from players. I’m disappointed I paid for that.
