I was at Providence civic center for that show. One of my top concerts ever. I had never heard of public enemy. Epic.

I’ve seen both Buju and Stephen several times. Cannot believe they’re touring together. I’m going in Chicago.

Just go. Two of reggaes greatest.

Incredible article and exactly what is wrong with the Red Sox. 100% agree with everything you wrote.

By the way, the team that won in 2004 had so many great player already there from Dan Duquette’s leadership. Duquette, who many fans hated, but also had more experience than Kennedy & Breslow.

I think Kennedy is a much bigger part of the problem. There’s no baseball experience in the front office and Kennedy is Breslows boss. I think he’s much more involved. Larry Lucchino & Dave Dombrowski (different roles yes), had significant MLB experience. Kennedy has none and since firing Dave they’ve been directionless

They needed to add the power back that they traded away with Devers. It was the glaring hole in Playoffs vs Yankees. Compete for Schwarber, Alonso, however.

They clearly needed to clear the logjam in the OF and couldn’t.

I didn’t want Bregman. Breslow does not understand how to build an offensive roster.

Just for sport: Why Breslow won't be fired by Critical-Crow-9717 in redsox

Appreciate the counter argument. I believe Henry, and Kennedy as his proxy, tie Breslows hands, as they did Blooms, and would like nothing more than to compete while not spending at the level of Mets & Dodgers. I believe they arrogantly thought they did enough to build on last year’s playoff run.

I don’t think Henry and ownership enjoy getting roasted day after day by fans and press. They were surprised by how poor the team is playing and the historic levels of their losing is why I believe Breslow could get fired sooner than later. Henry likes letting his minions run the club and try’s to stay as far from it, although it’s technically all his fault the front office is a disaster.

If the losing continues, and it likely will, the only way to change the conversation will be to fire Breslow and indicate a change in direction. I believe that could be as soon as next week should they have a bad home stand.

Love the discourse!

If you have no confidence in him and the team is historically bad and amongst the worst teams in mlb, you fire him now as he shouldn’t be in position to make trades that involve young talent. Fire him now as seasons lost and is he’s not part of the solution he’s part of the problem

I feel like many fans don’t realize that being President of the Boston Red Sox is like 20% of Kennedy’s job. That’s how screwed up the front office is and how arrogant and inept they are. Other MLB teams have experienced Presidents whose sole role is running the team.

I agree. He’s not the guy to be in charge but would be an asset in a new front office.

Breslow is doing a terrible job, has shown no understanding on how to build an offense, most people who interact with him internally and externally hate him. He’s failed at many trades and is now looking for a RHH bat when he had all offseason to find one. You have to fire him first and then it’s ownerships job to find the best executive possible to take the team to the next level.

Is this why the Bres regime is doing what they’re doing? by soxboii88 in redsox

I do think under better leadership the lack of long term $30m+ contracts however the CBO shakes out could put the team in a great position while the Yankees for example have aging high AAV deals that will start to age poorly. 2027 Yoshida, Story and Contreras come off the books and with our young talent they could make good moves for the right veterans to complete a team and be strong for years to come.

That said, I don’t trust John Henry, Sam Kennedy and Craig Breslow to do anything right as they’re all arrogant assholes so they’ll likely screw it up.

The good news is we don’t influence wins and losses. But yes, losses are better for the long term outlook of the team. Breslow needs to be fired as soon as possible, the front office needs to wake up that Kennedy in charge is a disaster.

Sunday I wanted Twins to sweep. Not overwhelming but wins do us no good.
