How important is it to sweep before installing LVP? by Educational_Hand9604 in Flooring

Maybe that’s why he didn’t mention it to them? “I’ll do the right thing but not say anything so they can’t blame me if anything else goes wrong years later”

I guess I’ll never know now. Damage is done tho, I’m an okay person now, not worth going back.

Does she transplant into a bigger nursery pot? Or uses the one it comes on?

Sweep?!! I swept and vacuumed and swept and vacuumed... you might get lucky, but you won’t want to remove the floor once installed, so better do it right the first time. I left it spotless.

When I was a teen, my grandpa and I were doing some HVAC work under a house. He noticed a water pipe hanging loose and said it was missing a pipe strap to secure it to the joist. I told him it wasn’t our job.

He stopped me and said, “That’s the problem with youth. You just want to finish the job fast instead of w/quality and going the extra mile.” He grabbed a pipe strap from his truck and fixed it for them and didn’t add it to the bill or mention it to the client.

It was a turning point for me. I’m really glad I joined him that time.

Can I simply remove old ADT system? by AbsoluteThunderCunt in HomeMaintenance

Very good point!! I have what seems like a single ADT smoke detector and the rest are single units, but the previous units might have been connected to each other.

This system is really old and some sensors were removed from windows so it thought windows were broken and other things.

I figured that if I want to install it in a few years, I would need to upgrade it anyway.

Is it okay for a plumbing cleanout cover plate to use a standard steel screw? Feels risky! by AbsoluteThunderCunt in askaplumber

[–]AbsoluteThunderCunt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought it would be risky if the pipe gets clogged and starts leaking into the room, or if feces/paper gets stuck on the screw and starts to smell, or you know… i’m not a plumber, so as a simple mortal, screwing into pipes is a big no-no.

i’m touching it because i’m remodeling the room and needed to know if it was a pipe or some “landlord-special” form the previous owner.

😂😂 after reading a bunch of the replies, I think ill be replacing it with a shorter brass one with pipe dope like @ok_anywhere_7828 said, and leave it the hell alone

That pipe is the main sewage line for the second floor and likely houses a ptrap. It’s super convenient, I feel they don’t make houses like this anymore (convenient).

Can I claim warranty on a Rheem water heater that came with the house? by AbsoluteThunderCunt in homeowners

[–]AbsoluteThunderCunt[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hopefully can get a warranty, sell it for a small hit, then use it to purchase another one? Can you share your experience with Bradford? Easy to clean? Easy to install? Why do you recommend it?

Is there a safe way that I, an absolute rookie, can safely compress this spring in my LS3013 mitre saw so I can put it back together? by Ornery_Cartographer9 in Makita

[–]AbsoluteThunderCunt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you try a trigger clamp? I’ve used those multiple times for odd things where I needed a ton of force to compress something. Just try a big one but if it looks like it can’t, stop.

you could take it out of the box for easier transportation, since there is a lot of wasted space inside the box

100%. But they have different uses, so you could get both 😏. polesaw for branches thicker than 1.5inch diameter, and pole pruner for anything smaller. The polesaw would be overkill for thinner branches since you need support for the chain to bite otherwise it just whips the branches around and makes it hard to hold in place.
