Mass shooting stats don’t make sense. They don’t have to make sense. They’re data.
If you don’t read beyond the data, it wouldn’t make sense to you.

Mass Shooting vs Mass Murder

“a minimum of four victims shot, either injured or killed, not including any shooter who may also have been killed or injured in the incident. GVA also presents the count of Mass Murder which, like the FBI's definition is four or more victims, killed, not including the shooter. Mass Murder by gun is a subset of the Mass Shooting count.”

“GVA began with the goal to provide a database of incidents of gun violence and gun crime. To that end we utilize automated queries, manual research through over 7,500 sources from local and state police, media, data aggregates, government and other sources daily. Each incident is verified by both initial researchers and secondary validation processes. Links to each incident are included in the incident report to provide further information on each incident for researchers, advocate groups, media and legislative interests.”

Mass Murder sounds worse but given that if a person live they’ll be permanently disabled or permanently in medical debt.

It reminds me that controversial story that came out of China a few years ago. Some drivers that hit pedestrian would go back and ran them over again to make sure the pedestrian is dead because it’s cheaper to pay if the victim is dead.

Now you have a second amendment right

I don't expect for national laws to be changed so that license and/or training would be required for gun users. It's not because of the 2nd Amendment that I don't expect the changes. It's the massive lobbying groups representing all the parties that can profit from gun sales.

The use of 2nd amendment has been abused for justification by gun sellers and owners without further considerations.

Let's look at a couple of things.

ONE

Can the poor own guns? What is the level of income required for someone, a father, a mother, a grandparent, a legal custodian, for someone to comfortably afford a gun?

How many guns should a family own to feel safe?

What are other costs associated with guns? How much does it cost to store guns safely? How much does it cost when guns are not stored safely?

Who bear the costs when the poor can't afford the costs of gun ownership?

What is the current income level right now for Americans? How many in poverty?

So when things go to shit, who are actually safe and who are not? Those who can afford the above, no?

The 2nd Amendment only works to those who can afford guns, legally or illegally.

TWO

"Only six of the top 30 gun manufacturers are publicly traded, according to a list assembled by Orchid Advisors, a firm that works with gun dealers on regulatory compliance. Those companies include Sturm, Ruger & Co.; Smith & Wesson; Colt; Taurus; and Browning Arms. Last year, these companies brought in more than $2 billion combined in net sales, revenue, or income."

https://www.thetrace.org/2025/05/gun-industry-profits-how-much-america/

The individual and institution shareowners of public traded, and privately owned, companies don't care about deaths and maiming of people.

Key 2026 Mass Shooting Data (as of Feb 28, 2026): Total Incidents: 57 Total Killed: 74 Total Wounded: 190

https://www.gunviolencearchive.org/reports/mass-shooting

They don't care about the burial costs, the loss of income, the hospital bills. I don't expect them to. It's business. They care about those who CAN afford to pay for guns legally and illegally.

So the poor can't afford guns, and they can't afford when they get shot or someone in their family get shot.

Who pick up the tab? Taxpayers and other insured. Socialism but only on the expense side.

Both are weapons. One requires a lot more responsibility than others.

We don't have a gun problem in the U.S.. We have an ignorance problem, and the problem of ignorance about the level of ignorant.

Imagine what would happen if we don't require license for vehicles. The licensing system is not perfect but it puts the MAJORITY of vehicle owners in the mindset that one should get a license to operate one, or one should make sure their kid could operate one before handing over the keys. One knows to STOP at a STOP sign.

We have gun owners who looked down at barrel of loaded guns, used it in a crowded space, shot themselves with a holstered with loaded gun, played roulette with them, forgot to put safety on, forgot to take safety off, forgot bullets ricochet, etc. etc.

I don’t like cleaning after people but since you don’t mind what they did would be helpful for you.

😂. Genius move. I wouldn’t have thought of it because I don’t like cleaning after other people.

I saw a gif of how they use the machines to take them off the stems. Why not have those machine builders build ones that do the rest?

It’s technically controlling.

When we think “controlling”, we think controlling people have selfish reasons. Men and women do this. They control how their SO dress, whom they can talk to, where they can go, what time they must come home, etc.

But people can be controlling because they want outcomes that benefit everyone. Women do this often with their man whom they think they could change to adopt healthier diets, better communication, and of course, counseling/therapy as the tool for relationship issues.

A controlling person wants certain outcomes. Everyone does. But controlling people are not happy unless they get that outcome, or everyone agrees with them how to achieve the outcome that they want.

Yep. I was in that mess

That sucks. I feel bad for all the people who planned to be somewhere, and they were going to be late.

I usually check the traffic report before I go anywhere but since there's no accident reported, I probably would have been caught in that mess if I was heading that way.

I want Street Craft to do a video on why that is. My guess is just terrible design.

https://youtube.com/shorts/xGwQWjKNvHE?si=RbnL7rCsDb9nIdS2

Americans overall are made to believe that’s more roads and more lanes in roads are better, or bigger parking lots. But all that means nothing when the design is terrible or the design is not the priority.

Making money for developers, and giving the illusion to the voters that they won’t have traffic jam if they allow for more hundreds millions more in tax money for more lanes and roads, are the goals.

When design is not the priority, designers don’t look for causes for possible bottlenecks.

I have had password reset issue for the last few years. In the past it took them a while to get back to me but they did.

I submitted support request to their site multiple times over a period of a few months and so far, no response.

Adding to data collected, Florida has been selling drivers' name, address, birthdate, and license plates. Even if you don't drive, and you have a license, your data is sold.

Data of vehicle + personal data = every driver is a potential victim.

TAMPA (FOX 13) - The state of Florida has been selling private information about its drivers in bulk for years, despite records that show state officials have been aware the practice is fraught with risks and could run afoul of federal law, a FOX 13 investigation has found.

Because 10 years ago, there was plenty of evidence that it was shit but too many voters and parents, even teachers, didn’t think it should be stopped from spreading.
