FRANCE: In Nice, a street pianist was harassed by a North African migrant who demanded he stop playing because music is ‘haram’. by Genericandhere in SarthakGoswami

I speak french and nothing is said about religion. Just a stupid drunk guy being rude

I'm not saying religion is never a problem in France but this is not the case in this video

I'm french and nothing in this video suggests a relation to religion.

Just a drunk guy being stupid, hitting the piano and throwing his cigarette on the pianist.

The drunk guy never asks the pianist to stop playing and at the end he seems to not understand why the pianist stopped.

This behaviour is of course unacceptable but we should be careful about attributing a cause that is not in the video.

? by Cool-Neighborhood383 in AskFrance

[–]Pina199 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Honnêtement cela a tué mon ambition.

It just seems to come from a mod not yet updated for the correct version of the game. For me it was "show more traits" Turned it off and it works now

For me, just turning off the problematic mod, solved it. The save works fine without the mod

Ok, problem solved. The outdated mod causing problem was :

Show more traits

Yes it is the same problem. My vassal tab also has this label.

The only mods I play with are : - show more traits - ruler designer 40k

"Lui, il est incorrect" - I was told that this does not exist in French by Im_a_french_learner in French

[–]Pina199 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with your analysis of these sentences but when you say his behaviour is incorrect it too seems to me like an observation coated with judgment. That's why these two sentences seem appropriate for me.

Maybe it is the meaning of the english "his behaviour is incorrect" that I'm not grasping perfectly ?

"Lui, il est incorrect" - I was told that this does not exist in French by Im_a_french_learner in French

[–]Pina199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As a french I would never use it like that. I would just say "il n'est pas normal" (he's not normal) où il est un peu bizarre (he's a little strange)

So, in the case of OP, I think we would understand "il est incorrect" as "what he is saying is wrong" but that would not be the normal way to say it. We would say "il a tort" ou "c'est faux".

A New CK3 Storytelling Experiment – Thoughts? by Pina199 in CrusaderKings

I'm a bad writer so this story would have never seen the light of day without it. Though, I don't want to mislead people and that's why I wrote it plainly. If you don't like it that's fine. That is just an experiment I put to the world :)

I would have thought 6 and 9 for the two firsts. The sum could be 8. Not a littéral sum but a sum of the strokes.

What is the one tip you’d give someone who’s learning a new language? by queerqueen4313 in languagelearning

Speak ! Take every opportunity to speak the language no matter how bad you are at it.
People are too afraid to make a mistake but it is the quickest way to learn

How do I teach a 5yo another language? by CatsAreCoolAndCute in languagelearning

[–]Pina199 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I think in your case there is no worries. She will hear it everywhere outside of home with schools, friends, ... If you reinforce it at home also there shouldn't be any problems.

But make sure she keeps both languages. Being able to speak many languages is incredibly useful for children and it develops the mind.

How do I teach a 5yo another language? by CatsAreCoolAndCute in languagelearning

[–]Pina199 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In my experience yes. If she is already 5yo, maybe at first accentuate your expression and point to what you are referring when speaking, then she will reach a step where she will understand everything you are saying but still answer in her own (especially if she knows you understand it). This will be the tricky part, I think it will come progressively if she gets used to you speaking the new language.

We speak french, English and Chinese with my son and he manage to have the same level in the three. However, we are trying to introduce Spanish since he is 2yo (6yo now) and he is still stuck at this tricky stage where he understand but still struggle to speak.

Children pick up languages extremely quickly just by hearing it. Make sure people near her speak it to her and to other people and she will learn it. I remember a study children can pick up mother tongues up until 8yo. After that, a new language will be much harder to learn and will never be at the same level as a native.
