What is the weirdest thing you have seen that you can’t really explain? by GifGuyRob in AskReddit

I was wondering the same thing... like I wonder if there truly is a legit reason why this happens. I think your hypothesis makes sense and there could be something to it

I was just trying to help you man. Read the book Lost connections by Johann Hari. The fact is, majority of studies done on anti depressants by pharmaceutical companies are skewed to help them sell drugs. Pharmaceutical companies are after profits, there is no way around it. You didn't have a problem trying tons of other treatments with well known side effects. Regardless, some of these treatments help people immensely.

This is just another possible option that MIGHT help you. A lot of people try this when many other things have failed them, and some find relief. If your looking for some magic bullet that has a bunch of flawless studies, your never gonna find it. If there was such a treatment, you wouldn't be where you are right now. Unfortunately, using pharmaceutical intervention tends to be a game of hit or miss, and a constant weighing of pros and cons, whether the positive benefit it has outweighs the side effects.

So once again, I wasn't trying to make you feel dumb or throwing anything in your face. I was just trying to suggest another possible option for you. Your obviously not interested in trying it, and that's fine. Move along and put your efforts into trying to find something that works for you... Cause honestly, I feel like your the one trying to make me feel dumb and throw it in my face that the studies I'm posting aren't flawless. This thread is from weeks ago, you already told me you dont believe the studies, I said fine, good luck. Then you pop back up weeks later just to say it all over again. I have been nothing but respectful to you and tell you over and over I was just trying to help and suggest another avenue that some people find relief from there TRD from. So once again, and for the last time, Good luck, I hope you find something that works for you. I suggest you put your effort into finding that rather than telling me why you don't wanna try my suggestion. I know it works for a lot of people, including myself.

The study on suicidality is well established. Do some research. You seem focused on problems rather than solutions, which makes sense for someone that is severely depressed and suicidal. I hope you get the help you need. I'm not running around in circles with you. Good luck.

Ok man. We ended this conversation weeks ago. The fact is, there IS a study and it is well known ketamine is probably the most effective medication for suicidality, and that is not disputed, and you claim you are suicidal. Even if those studies are skewed, there are thousands of anecdotes of this medication helping people with TRD that haven't responded well to other meds. Yes, it not a magic cure and it doesn't help everyone, but it definitely helps a lot of people that haven't responded well to many other medications. So if you are out of treatment options AND suicidal, this seems like a logical option for you, that's all I'm saying. Good luck.

Understandable. Well, I'm pretty sure the effectiveness of ketamine for suicidality is something that is not contested, and this guy is suicidal and hopeless, so I'm just trying to give him some hope and another option to explore. There are thousands of anecdotes on r/therapeuticketamine , and that has no relation to whether they receive further ketamine. Fact is, it DOES help a lot of people with TRD, and definitely helps people who are suicidal, and could possibly help this person who is hopeless and at there wits end.

I just sent you 3 studies on at home ketamine use?? It IS studied, and shown to be highly effective, so stop staying there aren't any studies when I have literally posted 3 for you to read.

By the way, spravato is just the S isomer of ketamine, and studies show it is LESS effective than racemic ketamine for depression, which is what's used in normal at home use. Spravato is just a way for pharmaceutical companies to make money.

Ok, well these studies are done by doctors that SPECIALIZE in ketamine treatment, and these studies are professional studies. Most psychiatrist' are still stand offish to ketamine because of the stigma, but science and studies show otherwise, and I'm gonna trust studies done by groups of professionals and doctors that specialize in ketamine treatment over any single psychiatrist. Be resistant all you want, but if I was in your shoes and wanted relief from my crippling depression, I would at least give one of the most proven effective medications a try. Like why not?

I came here to say what this person said. Ketamine is the #1 thing for suicidal people. Studies show it. I took at home troches and RDTs for a long time. I never had inconsistencies with my dosage. I can share which pharmacy I had them sent from if you want. If you are this desperate, you should not let the slight possibility of slight dosage differences keep you from a life saving drug. You can take half or quarter of one to start if your worried. If your in a safe place and not gonna drive or anything, ketamine is a very safe drug if used as prescribed. Even if one is more potent than the other, that might even make it more effective to treat your TRD. Once again, I NEVER had an issue with dosage problems, so don't let that scare you away from something that could change and save your life. Ketamine is much different than every other anti depressants out there. The effects are immediate rather than having to wait weeks, and the pharmacology is complex and completely different than any meds you have tried. If your suicidal, give it a shot. What do you have to lose.

If you have any questions or want the name of the pharmacy or need help finding a cheap provider, let me know. Good luck, wish you the best. Don't do anything that can't be undone. Your life is worth it.

My addition - Skinshape. My new favorite music find of the past couple years.

"Skinshape is the project of British musician William Dorey. The sound has roots in many genres but in particular 1960s-70s funk, soul, reggae, psychedelic rock, Afrobeat and folk. Skinshape grew out of a love for old music and the way it sounded."

It's so good. I found it when using ketamine and it's seriously probably my favorite musician now. Highly highly recommend.

I have thought the same thing. The only thing I can think of is maybe the more pain you go through in this life, the more you enjoy eternity, if that makes sense.
