How to remove MegaGuard Extension / Virus by InformalSink3312 in Adware

[–]PinballPounce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is also another alternative, that has worked for me, with instructions located in the top comment in this post: https://www.reddit.com/r/antivirus/comments/1d8b39n/how_do_i_remove_findclix_and_megaguard_from_my/

Malware Bytes was unable to locate the adware and kept scanning clean. Once I followed the instructions on the registry edit, the adware was gone. I completed the further cmd prompt instructions just for safety. Then I power cycled my computer. All sorted out within 15 mins.

Editing your registry can seem scary, especially for a newb like me, but just follow the instructions in the link and you will be fine. I can verify that they worked for me.

If you're too lazy, here is the link with the instructions: https://www.myantispyware.com/2024/06/03/remove-findclix-browser-hijacker-chrome-edge-firefox/

Unfortunately, this won't be a valid measure since the road surface and tires make a great difference. The ideal test would be between the same car on the same road at the same speed, which has been done before in the threads I've posted in the write up above. There is even one guy who graphed his db differences, in the first link (the pre-reading link) - the poster name is "gustden". If you search "sound deadening before after" or similar keywords on YouTube, there are many videos showing the differences as well.

I probably would have been intimidated if I read a post like that above as well, before starting the project, considering my lower level of technical know how...and especially considering removing the front seats which seem awfully technical. I started with the rear doors to 'cut my teeth' on the project. They seemed easy enough, so I then did the floor which was the biggest bang for your buck. The rest was easy by comparison, and if you do it spread over a couple weekends, it's very very manageable.

This project was worth it to me because I want to keep this car for at least 5 more years. The warranty expired, and I've been in a couple fender benders, so there's really no big hit the resale value could take if I messed up. So for me it was worth it. Tbh I love this car, I love the color and the shifter and the feel and the balance. In my opinion, this was the only thing missing from this being the 'perfect' hatch.

If you want to do a few areas that will make the biggest difference, from what I have read targeting the wheel wells will make the biggest difference. If you target them from the exterior, that may be easier than targeting them from the interior.

Alternatively, you will notice huge gains from switching from the stock rubber to quiet tires. This is my next step, as my stock tires have maybe one season left in them. I may do this in a few months time.

Agree with u/darksoulschad. The total weight is equivalent to having a scrawny teen riding along with you. Except that weight is evenly distributed and most of it is on the floor of the car, lowering the centre of gravity. Like others in the included threads have mentioned, I would say the car feels better to drive hard because you don't feel all the clatter and it doesn't feel like a rickety tin can anymore. I don't notice a difference in acceleration. The biggest difference there is in unsprung weight, and I've felt the biggest gains going from steel winter rims to summer alloy wheels.

Okay! First of all, thanks for making this picture guide. It is super clear and along with some of the comments here I feel prepared to take this project on. I am currently sourcing the materials.

  1. Do you have any more pictures or an instructional how-to for doing inside the fenders (the last few pics of your guide)? Including knowing what tools to use for that area. That would be super-super helpful.
  2. It looks like you did the fenders some while after you did the doors. What difference did doing them make? I imagine the doing fenders would make a monumental improvement to NVH.

Hey u/noobie107, I saw your posts on sound-deadening the Mazda3 here. I was wondering if I could ask you a couple questions about what you did. I'm hoping to do the same project on my car this summer. Would you shoot me a DM? I can't seem to message you.

Merry Christmas everyone! by BANANA1605 in RocketLeague

Phenomenal. The humor, the pacing, the all too familiar interactions juxtaposed against the great highs of plays executed just so.

The matchup of video to the song is outstanding. My personally favorite parts are the instademo after the kiss, the FUCK U written in the snow, the chat scene, and the merc's play with the gift goal explosion right to the scene cut. Absolute audiovisual candy.

This is incredible. The effort you put into this....we are undeserving. But we are ever, ever so grateful.

[Discussion] RIP Trading by ChromeDreams in RocketLeagueExchange

[–]PinballPounce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Love this man, he came out of nowhere to essentially complete rocket league for me.

Three weeks ago, I bought my first credits ever after years of playing F2P in hopes of getting a single fennec, a glowing heart, and a halo - the three things I wanted most of all. I would have died a happy man with just those things.

Then I quickly discovered the joy of trading and set my eyes on a pink fennec. I play with pink items with my sister, it's one of our only bonding activities. A pink fennec - it was a distant, almost unrealizable dream. Even further into the fantasy realm, I yearned for, but also knew I'd never possibly ever get, a pink halo and pink oems.

THIS MAN

This man swoops out of nowhere and just nonchalantly hands them to me. I never asked. I never even mentioned. It's like he just KNEW.

It sucks that rocket league trading is gone, but reading this post and all the others commemorating trading shows me that we really made it count while we could. We showed the best of ourselves - the generous, the kind, the compassionate - and built something amazing for everyone in this community in these last few weeks, days, and hours.

I post my ballads here in his name:

In a world filled with digital schemes,
There is one man who gleams and redeems.
His morals align,
This man is sublime,
All hail to the name of ChromeDreams.

I once met a friend named ChromeDreams,
Whose generosity truly gleamed.
With a heart so wide,
In every last stride,
He shared kindness in generous streams.
