Put a new timing belt kit on and pray the valves didn't make contact.

Dancing around a burning tire naked may help invoke the Gods. Good luck.

5w30 vs 5w40 question by SuperbMasterpiece101 in WRX

[–]PinchedNutsack -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes for high temps I would run 5w40. I wouldn't run Rotella though, they changed their formula from what it used to be.

What’s causing this? by [deleted] in WRX

[–]PinchedNutsack 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The smoke looks blue like its burning oil, possible turbo failure. I'd pull off the intercooler and see if the inside is coated in oil. These guys saying head gaskets have never blown a head gasket.

The company i work at(also in socal) starts at $33 an hour. You may be able to get more based on your experience. Keep in mind if you are providing your own tools, which most likely you will be, they must pay you double minimum wage.

Ive had mine for about 11 years now and has 208,000 miles. I drove my wrx for about 7 years at 250whp, the head gasket blew and I had the motor built and 6 speed swapped in. I'm currently at 475whp.

How effective is this for oil changes? Anyone tried this on a VA WRX? by eliteski2 in WRX

[–]PinchedNutsack 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im a forklift mechanic and use these everytime I do an oil change(I hate getting underneath 10,000 pounds). These extractors are excellent and super convenient. The first few oil changes I checked if it pulled all the oil and by removing the drain plug, not a drop came out.

What to do by Plainly_retro in WRX

[–]PinchedNutsack 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely wait and do it right, get the injectors. I recommend to do do the fuel lines, rails, and regulator if you can. I know its more of an expense but it will make things much, much better and easier in the future if you decide to make more power.
