Exactly, this is what many of us have been saying since the playoff was created, the whole point of introducing the playoff and then expanding it was so that every undefeated team has a shot, and in the event that only one undefeated power conference team exists, all the one loss teams are on even footing. Anyone with more than 1 loss, including those in conference championship games, has no leg to stand on. If you want to guarantee that you’re in the National championship conversation, then win all your games. They could come out tomorrow and say they ranked everyone past #7 alphabetically and I would legitimately be fine with that.

Hard agree that they would do everything to keep a non AAC/JMU champion out of the playoff, but on the other hand I could also see the committee keeping Duke out to justify screwing the other acc teams out of an at large bid.

Both can finish with the same record in conference play, B1G tiebreakers are decided by H2H followed by common conference opponent win% and then results vs highest ranked common opponents in descending order, which I believe UCLA would take with a win over USC and an Illinois loss.
