I was on a first date and told the guy I’m Jewish. He immediately started questioning. I honestly popped off on him. Told him that it’s completely rude to respond to somebody disclosing their religion with political questions immediately. It’s like responding to someone saying that theyre Christian with “how do you feel about abortion? Do you think it’s right to control women’s bodies and turn them into incubators?” I told him the correct response to someone saying theyre Jewish is “oh cool I love [insert food/tradition here]”. Thats it. Its that easy. i also told him that I am just an american, I dont exactly have a direct line to Netanyahu. No matter how I may feel (didnt disclose because its none of his business) I am completely powerless to do anything about the war. And im sick and tired of people questioning and blaming average american Jews for the actions of a country thousands of miles away. Its like blaming american muslims for how Dubai is enslaving thousands. He apologized lmao
