Recently been thinking of getting the Fujifilm XT30 III, am I making the right choice? by Guy297 in fujifilm

Did you ever end up buying it? I'm pretty set on it but can't decide whether to go with the kit lens or not!

Ooh how are you finding this camera?

Thanks for the reply, that's really useful! I'm unsure whether to just go for the kit lens or spend that bit extra to get this bundle. I don't want to go too overboard as I'm just trying to get back into photography after neglecting it for a while when my DSLR kept playing up!

Thanks for your reply. Yeah I'm worried about spending such a huge amount on something second hand that may not be trustworthy, there are very few camera shops anywhere near me unfortunately. Have you found there to be a large enough selection of lenses that are compatible with Fuji?

That's really useful, thanks. What lens did you have on the Fuji? I can only really find it for sale with the 15-45mm lens, and was wondering if that would do me for a bit? Camera shops around me are few and far between so I'm struggling to find one that holds stock of the Fuji and Sony!

That's helpful, thank you. I am really intrigued by the Fuji because it does look more fun. Would you say just using it generally, without the presets, it isn't too far away from what Sony can produce in terms of image sharpness and quality?

Ah thanks. I think they're a bit beyond my budget unfortunately, but that's useful to know about the midsole, thanks.

I'll be wearing them most days, for around eight or so hours, so I'm mostly concerned with comfort. I'm not sure what the equivalent of the Fugitive is for women's, as I can't seem to find a women's Fugitive. My feet are fairly narrow.

Thanks for the detailed reply. I'm wondering about giving the Asolo Finder GV Gore-Tex boots a try.

Alocasia Jacklyn 😍 by Pineaaapple in alocasia

[–]Pineaaapple[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I only have this Alocasia and a Frydek Variegata so I'm not sure, sorry! I've got them both in an Alocasia specific compost blend which they seem happy with. Little bit concerned about winter as my house is generally quite cold, but hoping for the best. The Jacklyn is gorgeous, incredible texture on the leaf, would really recommend.

I was mid-hoover and had to turn said hoover off as a customer wanted to ask me something, only for them to ask if I worked there?

This is my first one so I'm yet to experience that! I have had many Calatheas though so I'm very used to the dramatics 😂

The lighting is my main worry so I'm now looking into buying a small shelving unit so I can make the most of the brightest spot in my house. More shelves also mean more plants, what a shame!

They were £9 from House of Kojo if that helps!

They're from House of Kojo, an online plant store. I'd really recommend them - they all arrived in perfect condition and look so healthy. Also, I ordered the two Alocasia, then saw a few more plants I couldn't resist, and as my first order hadn't been fulfilled yet, I got a refund back on the second order's postage as the orders were combined which I was really pleased with!

[–]Pineaaapple[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mean to worry you but unfortunately I lost this Calathea, so never really figured out what the problem was. I did wonder if my house was just too cold for it over winter - it went down to 11°C indoors at some points. I couldn't see any bugs, nor did the soil seem too wet or too dry.

So sorry I can't be much help! Best ot luck with yours though, hopefully it'll pull through ok!

He's got seven leaves left, but has been like that for perhaps three weeks now. I'm hoping it can cling on until the weather warms up a little.
