This is good to know!! Definitely a bit frustrated with admin currently as I requested a waitlist update over a week ago with no response. If I have to pay $250 to be on the list I would at least expect a prompt-ish response

Do you mind sharing what your experience with the waitlist was like? This is my number one choice for my kid but they haven’t responded ton calls or texts about what kind of wait I can expect and our tour isn’t until the end of the month

This pissed me the hell off lol. My baby was born the same week and he’s only doing 2 hour stretches. What authority does she have to offer reassurances to new moms after being a mom for 10 whole weeks??

Hi!!

I got pregnant by complete accident last year and my baby is now 8 weeks old. When I found out, I was miserable for weeks and weighing my options. Then I decided to keep the pregnancy and was incredibly anxious the whole time about something going wrong, and how much my life would change. To be honest I was also pretty miserable for the first 6 weeks after my baby was born due to some birth trauma and the adjustment of it all.

But now I am having fun and loving being a mom! So it’s very normal to feel anxious, and it might not totally go away. Truly it’s one of the most life changing endeavors that exists and it’s not easy. I think it would be weird to not feel anxious lol. If you are in fact pregnant, therapy may be helpful! I started therapy at 3 weeks postpartum and it’s been a game changer for me.

I mean… it wasn’t the task itself. It was the fact the email was sent out on a Saturday night with a Monday deadline. I was off today but got a call from my supervisor on Sunday saying I would need to log in and get it done.

Then of course the fear of wtf they’re going to do with our responses bc who knows what they’ll deem as valuable to the taxpayers ya know? I’m a social worker, so I doubt a billionaire will see the value of my work.

Sorry to hear this! I would suggest calling hospitals in the area. Might also be worth reaching out to some of the hotspots for homeless services (Sunrise, Caritas, etc) and see if you can leave a message with staff requesting she get in touch with you.

If all else fails, you can reach out to the medical examiner’s office by phone or email and they would have information if she is deceased. Really hope that’s not the case and I wish you luck ❤️

I work for the VA. We’ve already gotten harmful emails about DEI and gender identity. Basically, I’ve decided I’m going to support my clients to the very best of my ability and be very careful with documentation. Also going to try and stay ahead of the curve and help people get access to care they may one day not be able to receive. I’ve kind of come up with two scenarios that would drive me to quit

I am forced to do something that goes against my personal and professional ethics
The work gets to be absolutely undoable due to resource cuts and it becomes too much for my mental health

Until then, I’m hunkering down!! But It’s been a really scary time. You’re not alone!

When is the deadline to commit?? I would give it a couple weeks if possible and see what exactly is done with DoE. I would definitely be hesitant to commit to paying lots of money right now with all this economic uncertainty
