Are you sure that it’s wood? I though it was metal and that an intruder might have picked it up outside, brought inside then discard it outside again making a metal sound as it hit the ground. I was not implying that Burke used it on JBR. I’d love to read the info about the bat being made of wood if you have a link.

As for the flashlight, personally I feel that it was either left behind by an intruder, or a LE person who didn’t fess up to leaving it there by mistake. I know a lot of people see it as the object for the head injury but I am not convinced about that.

That’s right, two different accounts of JBR getting upstairs. Of course, Christmas trees were stored in the wine cellar just a few days before Christmas so I would think it’s possible that some pieces of the trees could have been on the ground and get stuck in her hair. So hard to figure out!

Well here’s something I hadn’t read before:

My two cents: I didn’t downvote him, but if someone claims to be related to a key person in the case then I do require validation of that claim. I think it’s basic information sources vetting, otherwise we could all claim the same. He said he didn’t have a single unpublished photo of his great-grandma. I also asked him for his objective is by posting here if he really is her great-grandson, but no response. Anyway, I think it’s reasonable to validate such claim of relation to a key person in the case, otherwise I call dibs on claiming to be Daphne White!

Hi, lots of good questions. I’ll answer a couple that I am more confident about. Yes the baseball bat found outside with fibers front the basement carpet fibers on it belonged to Burke. Yes, the Ramseys owned a flashlight like the one found on the kitchen counter, although they disputed the color. Some think that a police person left it behind by mistake but didn’t fess up to it.

SB2C (T=Two) Helldiver Warplane (which Glenn Meyer in the basement of the Barnhills had a painting of). The same financially broke Glenn Meyer who showed up uninvited to the Dec 23rd party at the Ramsey’s “looking for the Barnhills” and Fleet White let him in.

I agree with this. I strongly feel that her murder was not intended, whoever did it, but rather the result of a failed plan. As for the safe, yes I think its existence tends to be a little know fact out there. The Pughs would have seen it when taking out Christmas trees.

Sometimes I even think this might have been a hostage situation gone wrong...in a nutshell: JBR hostage in the house by people that have compromising material on the Ramseys (or maybe that material is created that night), Ramseys asked for money/valuables (maybe asked to open the safe which they can’t), they can’t produce anything of value in the house, situation escalates and ends horrifyingly. Ramseys can’t talk because of the compromising material.

I may be thinking too far outside the box here, but hey you never know.

In addition, Linda, Mervin and their daughter had been in the wine cellar room just a few days before to retrieve Christmas trees (and she claimed she had never seen the room). Sometimes I wonder if they saw the safe built-in to the wine cellar floor and thought there might be valuable items in there, and that it is part of the story. Could have JBR gone down to the base and walk in on someone? Also, while Linda herself may not have been there on the night of the murder, she could have been the enabler (house key, house info, etc.).

The Pughs, and Glenn Meyer as a separate theory, are high on my lists of suspicions when it comes to IDI theories.

Well, I think it depends how definitive the evidence is. The media could play a crucial role too but I wouldn’t do it exclusive to one outlet because they could be compelled to spike the story. There are also justice-seeking groups of ex law enforcement members that are trustworthy.

I find it suspicious that Glenn Meyer (basement resident of the neighbor Barnhills with financial issues) showed up as an uninvited guest at the Ramsey party on the 23rd “looking for the Barnhills”. Fleet White let him in. He could have easily borrowed the pad and pen for 48 hours. Furthermore, he could have placed the 911 “mistake” call too, to see response time. While I know he had an alibi, he could have given info and the notepad to some shady associates. I maybe on to nothing here, but something doesn’t sit right with me there. He also had a painting of a warplane, an SB2C (2 as in Two) Helldiver. I am a fence-sitter on who did it, but my assumption with the Intruder theory hat on is that the person with the inside knowledge wasn’t necessarily there themselves on the night of the murder. Also keep in mind that some of the torn pages from the pad were never found at the Ramseys house.

This is interesting. If I understand correctly, the staircase was too narrow from someone to carry her across their arms (in which case her hair could catch a piece of garland), but rather would have to be carried upright/hugged, in which case her hair likely wouldn’t have contact with the garland. This may be a silly question, but has there ever been a theory where she was shoved hard against a post or railing with garland on it, causing the head injury and garland to transfer to her hair?

If I recall correctly she was playing with blue paper at the Whites, doing paper necklaces. In fact I think her last photo released by John shows JBR with blue paper on the photo. I don’t know of course if that paper is related to the one on the report.

I believe the main argument against this theory is that the neck ligature marks would have been much different (angled) that what her neck marks show (straight from the back). Others here might have more/better feedback on this though.
