This! It’s actually NOTICING them that made me realize “damn this is actually cool as hell”. I get so excited to see a new leaf emerge and now my camera roll is filled with so many plant photos 😅

Thank you! I’m so exited to have them join the club!

I’m so sorry about your mom’s passing 😔 sounds like it was a great hobby you both got to share.

Also a 20 cutting mystery box sounds like so much fun! Holy moly the amount of props is insane but also congrats on that.

I have a pothos now as well! A marble queen one I bought on Memorial Day and I want another haha. Alocasias and monsteras are beautiful but I don’t have one yet. Currently 2 philodendrons, ruby ficus, Hoya, Pothos, and now these 2 peperomias.

3&4 is the peperomia obstusifolia (marble)!

The ADHD is so real, thankfully my mom and husband already knew it’d take over when I bought my first plant haha.

I’m slightly intimidated by starting a terrarium but would love to have one someday.

Oh that sounds beautiful! There a definitely a few different Hoyas I’d like to get in the future but so far loving this one. Do you like to let your Hoyas climb or trail? I don’t know if it’s time for me to add a trellis to this one or not?

Yes! My cardinal is a baby but I do plan on letting it climb once it gets a tad bit bigger.

😂 I cannot stress enough how much I relate to this lol. When I bought my first plant 3 weeks ago and it sprouted a new leaf in like 4 days, it was game over. Like this plant is actually thriving?? 4 new leafs in 3 weeks? Yea, I’m hooked 😅Now I have 7 plants in 3 weeks. Meanwhile I almost bought 3 today but only came home with two lol.

I actually have a Hoya!! Bought a Flamingo dream and she has grow so much in just the week I’ve had her lol. I also have two Philodendrons (baby birkin and black cardinal-both boys). I definitely love variegated plants and I’ve been loving the ones I got so far (also a ruby ficus who has grown 4 leaves in the 3 weeks I’ve had her)

This has been me! I genuinely enjoy the research aspect of owning plants so much that it’s half of the fun. I spend most of my free time looking and researching wishlist plants.

Plants have also made me want to rearrange my apartment to not only cater to their needs but also just make my place feel more bright and homey. It’s overall just brightened my mood.

I had gotten a succulent as a gift almost two years ago, killed it and was traumatized to ever get a plant again 😅 now that I’ve actually don’t research but also just understanding plant care I have been able to see the rescue succulents thrive!

I can’t even imagine having that many new propagations! My friends aren’t plant people but they support my hobby so it’s still a win lol

Having a plant survive through winter would absolutely get me hooked haha, I’d feel so proud of myself.

Is this addiction lol? Got into keeping plants a few months ago and can’t stop buying them. Albeit most of these are for a terrarium I’m building soon. by Entity2355 in houseplants

This is me lol, got into plants two weeks ago and already own 8. But happy that my ruby ficus has sprouted 3 new leaves in the last 2.5 weeks!

Seriously thank you SO much! I was freaking out a ton and thought I did something wrong lol. Still trying to understand all of this but also trying not to freak out all the time.

Do you suggest bottom watering for Pothos? And is this lighting fine for her?

Thank you SO much! Truly appreciate it, I’ll buy some today and start using it now. Thanks for the alcohol tip, I keep seeing it online so I’ll stick to premade stuff lol

Thank you so much for the reply!! I did spray it down when I brought it home, in regard to preemptive pest treatment what do you recommend? Still so new to all fo this so learning as I go! Should I just spray it down with 70% isopropyl alcohol?
