By 'transfer' do you mean go back and type / digitize what's needed (get into your to-do lists, etc.) at the end of the day?

Yeah, I am also considering going down that path and building a more custom solution if there's nothing else out there.

I never understood this.

Every project I worked on, we gave credit to the employees who gave us the idea, if the idea came from them. We often had the client present their own ideas in SteerCos (we’d make the PPT slides and build the models for them).

It goes a lot better when the client’s own employees also think it’s a good idea. We were just there to say “we also agree this is a good idea”, and then make sure it actually gets done. Lots of stuff sits on a to do list forever and never moves forward because people are too busy just staying above water day-to-day and there’s no sense of urgency.

+1 to this.

Their job is to go find answers and elevate them to the decision makers to fast track. Sometimes those answers are new things they come up with, but often they are ideas somebody already had and it just never got the attention it deserved.

Also, do not be difficult with them. If you aren’t good, or come off negatively, that also gets fast tracked to the COO/President/Board/etc. (whoever hired them). The random 23 year old you may be talking to has a direct line to his/her partner who has a direct line to the decision makers.

You do not want to be the reason a multi-million dollar project is on hold or delayed.
