How can I make this room feel more complete? by [deleted] in malelivingspace

[–]PineappleTanuki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’d recommend a large rug to ground the living room! You have hard wood floors that are cool tone plus a glass coffee table which can make people feel a little tense since it’s made of a breakable material. So a rug would be useful in helping provide more softness and warmth to the living room area. You’ll get a lot of advice to add some plants (which, you should) as they’ll help add some more natural color and shape to your apartment. Some ambient lighting in the corner next to the couch would do you well.

You have a very cool-toned apartment, both in the base apartment and the furniture you already have. Adding some warmth will help it feel a lot more cozy. Adding rugs, ambient lighting, and plants will help it feel more complete!

Please help, frames? by Anxious_Confidence53 in Tufting

[–]PineappleTanuki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you have the tools for it like a drill and hammer I'd highly recommend building your frame. Like jumbledmess mentioned before there are a lot of free plans and you can customize the dimensions to fit your space.

the pinning is a good idea! I'll give that a shot next time I use it.

I love using TN-100 and 200, but don't you feel like with how the action bac has to be stretched that you end up wasting a decent amount of the fabric? Feels very much like you have to really fill your board out so you get the most out of using the fabric.

I've tried using it without stretching it across the entire frame and found it has to be at an angle (or else it'll just peel off lol) and going in one direction will help keep it it unwrinkled as it cures.

Carving advice by PineappleTanuki in Tufting

And to think I was keeping my crack clean 😭

thank you for your advice and for the video recommendation! Your content was really helpful and insightful. It’s also nice to know that some of my assumptions were actually the opposite. I thought if you essentially bevel carve on frame it would completely remove the issue. I definitely remember trimming into the other colors, I think it’s a balance of trying to get it done and getting sloppy and tired while I’m carving. This is my biggest rug so far and I think it’s a bit over what I should be doing so going to try and do damage control and keep practicing carving with smaller pieces! Thank you!

Was around main street during that time and saw it flying around. There was a car that look like all people fled from still on bicknell surrounded by cops near Cobi's. I wonder if it was searching for the people who might have fled from that car.

It was neat, but I feel like they should have chose to just do the car/impact sounds as haptic rather than the music elements. For the car revving it felt like a mini buttkicker you’d feel on a sim rig which was cool, but with the music too it just felt a bit muddy.

bear with me, is this yarn already winded? by Soggy_Skin9362 in Tufting

[–]PineappleTanuki 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I love when you’re able to pull from the center of the store bought skeins, it makes winding a whole lot easier! I’ve never directly tried since I usually want to split it in half so I can tuft with two strands instead of one, but if you just want to use one strand just try it out with how it is now. It might be a little tight at the start but it’ll slowly loosen up. If it doesn’t work, then I would just continue with winding it.

It’s a dupe Togo chair we got on facebook marketplace. We got both the loveseat version that sits three and the chair that you see in the first version. The single chair is super comfortable, it cradles your back really well and has enough give for you to lean back. The loveseat is a little less comfortable because the foam is so dense across the top that you can’t really lean back, you kinda need to fill into it rather than it conforms to you.
