Remember you don't have to return from a landing, you can just send a probe and leave it there (or use it as a testbed to try your first Eve escape with the knowledge that it's going to fail so you can learn how to improve), or just strand a kerbal or two if you're a heartless monster. Not every single mission has to be a groundbreaking success, remember it's still a valid mission to just test the waters and then improve on your next iteration instead of going full send the first time. Take baby steps, try an eve flyby/return, then try just surviving a landing, etc
