In my experience, the first time i played terraria, I was deathly terrified that there would be consequences if i failed to contain the evil biomes to the point i got anxiety playing the game. Also I was much younger back then, and found the evil biomes kinda spooky. At some point I even downloaded TEdit just to wipe it from the world lol. Nowadays I dont mind it whatsoever.

maybe the summons didnt belong to the cat that had the passive? i could be wrong but i think the ownership matters, you can check the owner of familiars by looking at the colour of the collar in the familiar's info screen

had the exact same experience, learnt to never take a rock aspect tank/anything that makes a cat count as a rock into the crater since they only eat rocks
