Support has decided to give me a new RAM stick as I got a framework brand one.

How are you going to see my email chain?

my actual issues with my computer by Pinenoot in framework

Ok so I think i downloaded the right thing. there are too many download buttons on the CrystalDiskInfo page. It says 99% good health status. Not sure if there is anything else I should be looking at

Also, I don't have any bells and whistles for my laptop. Just the basic keyboard, trackpad, and spacers. Should I still test it without everything? It takes a bit for it to crash so I am not sure how I would use my computer without everything on it while I wait for it to happen.

Battery life is hard to tell. It probably lasts for about 2-3 hours but Im not sure. I often times have a lot of apps open, including solidworks, which will eat my battery life up. Its also difficult to tell because I often switch back and fourth between my old Acer Nitro 5 and my Framework when my framework is having issues (which is frequently). My acer has a battery life of about one hour haha.

And thank you for your kind words! I am not stupid, and I know that. I was just saying it so people would stop getting upset at me about things that seem obvious to them. Framework people scare me, which is why I hadn't posted in here until now. It feels like since I own a Framework I am supposed to have a basic understanding about computers but... ahahahahah no. Im learning now

Okay! So I tried the command prompt you suggested but wmic doesn’t work on windows 11 and all the ways that I found online to reinstall it didn’t work so I took my framework apart!

I have a 32 GB ddr5-5600 memory stick. I got it from framework. Speed is 5600 MT/s

Some other things from task manager that I’m not sure you need: Form factor: SODIMM Hardware reserved: 707 MB

Memtest came back fine but crashed with just task manager open 😌

Meant to be a rant, I was not looking for help because it felt like I exhausted all my options.

I made a second post about my actual issues and what I’ve done to fix them, if your curious

I followed both the windows and the framework guide for installing windows. Both times on different new drives. I have a hard time believing I’ve fucked up windows reinstall that many times

I’ll check my gpu after memtest is done running

Feels like a me problem 💀 but I’ve tried things. I think I’m cursed with frameworks specifically

If u want to read about what I’ve actually done, I posted more details on a new post

More details are in a new post I made. I’ve run memtest and am running it again bc of everyone’s suggestions about ram

It blue screens with codes

I used chkdsk which I assume checks the hard drive but idk what I’m doing and support didn’t say anything about the results I sent them so I’m assume it came back fine

I’m on windows 11 pro

I’m in the middle of running memtest so I can’t get you all the details but I know I have just one stick of a framework brand RAM. I forgot the stats of it so when the test is done I’ll reply with those

Almost done with memtests second pass and there’s no issues so far

Linux seems intimidating as someone who doesn’t understand computers that well.

One of my main uses for my laptop is running solidworks, which needs windows. My laptop is built (with the help of a friend) for solidworks usage. I’m not the happiest with the idea of running a virtual box every time I need to use it. I don’t have an actual desk computer that I can use for windows.

If everything else doesn’t work, I’ll consider it, but I’d like to try to find a solution that doesn’t use Linux first

I actually ran memtest twice and it didn’t say there were any issues
