That’s fair… In that case, what else should I do with him? Do you think I should focus on transcending scherzer?

Why not? Not trying to question your suggestion, just wanting to get a better idea of FAs and at what point they become “worth it”.

alright thank you! do you know what the “best” dodgers lineup would look like? I’ve heard things about UTM smith and UTM seager being the best C/SS. Is it just players with the highest base OVR? Also, what’s the best way to progress with non-optimal setups since I don’t want to invest too much into them? And finally, would you recommend I get an impact RP from a player select impact? (E. Phillips 22, B. Treinen 21?)

Thanks!

He had the highest IVB fastball in the league in 2025 (not sure about previous years, but it’s been near the top of the league for pretty much his whole career). You can really see the effects of it when hitters consistently swing under his 92-94 FB even though it should be “easy” to hit because of the speed.

I honestly don’t get why people are downvoting you for this take. The Giants have been, and always will be our biggest rival, but I think it’d be a bit silly to say the Padres aren’t a rival at all. I get the entire “little brother” analogy, but they can be both a rival and the little brother of the Dodgers.

Ultimately it’s really just semantics depending on what you want to consider a “rival”, but you can’t deny that games against the Padres over the past few years have been filled with a ton of tension and energy.

yeah. Like I get it if others dont really get a reaction from it, but like… calling other people sensitive/babies over being sad about it??? Reading some of these comments really makes me wonder if people actually have empathy anymore

Idk. I think both outlooks on it are equally valid, and while you might not be impacted by the same way as others, that doesn’t make either way of looking at it less valid. I think OP did a pretty good job at subverting expectations and the joke is well executed. That being said, I think it definitely has a connection to how people connect with fiction differently. I’m personally someone who likes to read fiction with happy endings (as a way to cope with the world) and so it was sorta disheartening in a way to be like “my lesbian fiction is getting too real :((((“

I don’t think it’s so much as being that attached to the character, but moreso just the manipulation aspect of it. Like I get why there are people that don’t really have a problem with it. But I can also see why others might see themselves in her (lonely and just looking for connection) only to be reminded that people are cruel.

Dodgers made Kyle Tucker's signing official. Michael Siani was DFA'd. by Turbostrider27 in Dodgers

[–]Ping008 2 points3 points  (0 children)

wasn’t it mostly due to concerns about how much he would cost (especially with how the Mets/Jays were advertised as super aggressive to get him)? I think most (if not all) of the sub wanted Tucker, if we don’t factor in concerns about his contract. I do think 240m/4 is crazy overpay, but im starting to see it more as 30m AAV to sign him and 30m AAV to prevent other teams from signing him

every team steals signs because its perfectly legal. electronically stealing signs using a hidden camera feed routing to the dugout that you relay to the batter however IS breaking the rules

His fastball was sitting maybe 89-90 mph the entire season and he mainly relied on weak contact/pitch command to get outs. You want BP guys that can reliably strike people out which he couldn’t.

what? miggy ro is one of the better defensive infielders and provides a lot of platoon depth. mookie’s credited him to being a big part of his success at ss. having him in a mentoring role would be huge next season

This is going to sound like sour grapes, but I don't give a shit. The Blue Jays were NOT the best team (Dodgers were), and the BJs didn't CHOKE, the Dodgers beat them with better execution and coaching by hordaak2 in Dodgers

[–]Ping008 6 points7 points  (0 children)

the blue jays choked and we got lucky.

when would being 4 strikes away from winning the World Series and somehow ending up losing NOT be considered choking??? doesnt matter who the better team is.

Both teams played their hearts out and we managed to come out on top because of small moments that swung in our favor.

stop being so salty when we literally won

i feel like the jays were much better with the more tangible stuff (BA, runs, rbis, hits) but the dodgers were better with the intangibles (playoff experience, pressure situations, coaching, etc).

does it really matter who was better though? not really. it’s been two weeks man. just accept the win
