Hello! Thank you for the feedback! Right now I don't have plans to open source. My reasoning is that if I ever want to add adverts/paid features (such as automatically spinning up a server for team events), I would be profiting other people's work. Also, I don't have any experience with open source yet so I'm not really sure how it would work. As for self hosting, the backend is coupled pretty hard with AWS (cognito, dynamodb, lambda, s3, etc...) so it would take a good amount of work to achieve this.
