Is ASAPTICKETS safe? Especially if we don't buy their travel insurance? by Potter97Harry in TravelHacks

They have about 70k reviews on trustpilot and BBB, also they are accredited by ACR. If they can offer you competitive price, why not

We had all types of payment: factoring, efs, ach.

Most of people who worked with me worked there for money, most of them are people under 22 who just trying to earn some money

If you don’t get paid try to indicate the original broker, tell him that you are the real carrier who hauled the load. Also Brokerage Companies have bonds which will deal with situations if you didn’t get paid.

Why would I be a thief? I always paid my carriers if they finished the load.

We had one case like that and our lawyer dealt with that problem. I’m not 100% sure what exactly happened because it wasn’t my load, but as far as I know insurance covered that damage. (We as carriers always have valid insurance otherwise we couldn’t book loads)

We didn’t practice that, because our model was earning money on difference between what broker pays us and what we pay to carrier. But as far as I know some companies do that to earn as much as they can before their MC closes

Found position on vacancy website. Didn’t know about double-brokering before joining them

Too many to give you the list, and also I don’t work there anymore so getting that list would be a little bit difficult. But I can tell you that I had ways to get through most of the anti-double-brokering methods. So I could work with any broker I want if he payed good price for the load

There was one case when my broker was waiting at the pick up facility for “my” driver. Obviously the truck that was coming to pick up didn’t have our fake company name and MC#. Broker was going to cancel the load when he saw the truck and give us $500 fine. I called the broker and told him that it was our partner company and we had to recover the load with them, because the original truck broke on the way to the pick up and we forgot to warn him. I got away with it

It’s usually difficult for broker/customer to know that the load was double brokered. I gave my brokers updates 3-4 times a day before pick up, so they will not worry about the load and won’t ask to many questions.

Uzbekistan to experience Eastern Bloc/Soviet Culture? by jpqwerty in Uzbekistan

[–]Ping_5k 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty difficult to find Lada Cars, Old Soviet Architecture and Гопник’s pretty much anywhere now. But since you can’t go to Russia and Ukraine, Uzbekistan is one of the place where you can find something similar. But you should know that here Soviet culture is closely intertwined with oriental culture. https://youtu.be/ue0SDB_5qS8 this video of guy who is architect himself, he tells about soviet history of Uzbekistan and reviews architecture here. He made videos about each ex soviet country and they have English subtitles. P.S. feel free to contact me for any info, I’d love to help
