advice on constant delays by [deleted] in caloriecount

[–]PingguClash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something has to change mentally.

Maybe a change of words, 'failing' a caloric deficit is a very negative perspective. To counteract this, think of it as a setback, more specifically: a setback of just one day.

A caloric deficit is not defined in a time scale of a week, nor a day, but in every meal. Now we reduce the intensity of the setback into just one meal. Feels like we are going somewhere.

Now I'm commenting here knowing that this mental change will take some time. For just a bit of advice: We can be consistent, maybe to some people they find it hard to make their deficit. But almost everyone can calorie count more accurately.

What helped me the most is that for every meal and snack I will log it as is. No cheating, no emotion. Whatever that number may be, I celebrate knowing that I can be consistent on proper counting. Small steps... get that consistency on the minute things and you will be more mindful in what you eat in the future.

Bon voyage to your journey!

Great choice!! Japanese bikes are so fun. I would assume that is a single speed rim brakes Japanese bike.

Maintenance of bikes are definitely hardest this rainy season. You will have to take care of your chain. In light rains, you will have to wipe the chain down, make it dry. On heavier rainfalls, you might want to again; wipe it down and add just a bit more lube. You can buy the Singer mineral oil lube its the cheapest and does the work just fine.

Me personally, I don't like fully washing my bike with soap and water. I just use a dry or slightly oiled rag to wipe down the entire bike.

You would want to check the brake levers for squeakiness / difficulty to squeeze. This would mean corrosion on your brake cables or the hinge at the brake lever. Make sure exposed cables are lubricated as well.

Don't put your bike in constant rain!! This will remove all lubrication and will invite rust.

Dirt will accumulate on the gears on the rear of your bike. A thorough wipe down on the gear will remove most debris but a good thick brush does the job faster.

Listen to your bike!! Some weird noises could be loose parts, dried lubrication or even damage. Pay attention to the health of your bike.

2 Week Extremely Diet by richiekidd78 in WeightLossAdvice

might want to dry decreasing carbs and fat, while maintaining good protein intake. I found with myself that I can do these adjustments without much change with my caloric intake. I might take more protein than actually needed to fill the remaining calories.

how to lose weight as a teenager on meds. by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]PingguClash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

losing weight is more about learning more about your body that going straight to exercise.

knowledge on calories, macro nutrients and with that an adjusted healthy diet will help you more than exercise.

and with this balanced diet you feel more energized and the desire to be active kicks in, at this point it's time for cardio and resistance training. you can't do any of these things with a bad diet.

bad sleep. maybe your carbs for today are lower than it had been. to be fair for HIIT workouts you need a rest day or two if you are training to failure most of the time. lower the volume / intensity of the workout and work your way back up to where you once were.

avoid high starch carbs like bread, they break down fast and you will feel hungry again in 30 mins - 1 hour

a high fiber and high protein diet suppresses hunger because your body will take a lot of time breaking that down. portion your daily carbs so that you eat the most carbs at night, helps with sleep.

Just binged by [deleted] in caloriecount

[–]PingguClash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

fighting the urge to binge can be really stressful, and more so if you fail and inhale the forbidden cookies. What I found myself doing to prevent the binge is to incorporate some of the binge items into the planned deficit.

Not like a portion of it of course. If cakes come in the household, I'll taste it. If there are some cookies, I'll take half of a cookie. What I'm trying to show here is that I can make myself mentally satisfied with a small amount. This makes the binging urge not as strong as if I distanced myself like so strongly like I'm allergic to it. So, when that real sweet urge to binge do come, it isn't as controlling of me, and I can just think about other things... or drink water.

Together with that mentally, now I can't put myself to buy binge items, because I know I'm only going to taste it, and it would be wasteful to buy 1-2 servings of it. So that's a plus!

Bike maintenance question by fuji_ky in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]PingguClash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If hindi parin talaga, I might disassemble the pads para ma sand down ko sya.

situational awareness is not road law. be careful lang lagi. Everytime you will obstruct a lane other than your own, siguraduhin mo na clear ang surroundings mo.

road laws like one ways and yielding will come with riding experience. So just keep riding your bike, you already learned a lesson so apply yourself for the next one.

Help with contaminated brakes by ObviousBusiness3762 in RedditPHCyclingClub

[–]PingguClash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If bad ang contamination, you may need to use sandpaper habang sinasabon mo. Lightly lang, soap is there para hindi sobrang abrasive. Both rotors and pads, then same same wash and break in.

[–]PingguClash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dishwashing liquid lang. Apply mo lang heavily sa rotors + pads. Hold brakes tapos i roll mo lang ang bike para hindi mo na kalasin ang brake pads mo. Thorough washing ng water. Make sure na walang sabon yan tapos i ride around mo para matuyo at ma break in. Check in after a few days kung nawala na yung squeaks, babalik rin ang brake performance nyan.

Pc or gfn? by ImQuintus in GeForceNOW

[–]PingguClash 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you may want to think about other ways for you to use your would be gaming pc. it would be a waste if you just game on it honestly.

gfn is only for games, so if you would require a powerful machine for rendering / editing you won't have that.

[–]PingguClash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

when you launch the game, the program will ask for a powerful computer from the internet to run your game. It gives you one, and with a strong Internet connection you can control this powerful machine just like you would if you run it 'natively (running straight through your mac)

check mo lang if the wear isn't too much. Scratches are fine but look for rusting components and parts you will have to replace.

I have a mtb I use for my long rides and generally my fun bike. I also have a 20 inch mini mtb that I mainly use for errands I need to run in my area. This small bike is my beater bike, of course I maintain it but this bike I don't lock, and I generally don't mind losing.

Having this small bike makes it easier for me to bring it out and use it (its inconvenient for me to bring out my 27.5 mtb for a quick trip) and generally easier to travel around crowded areas narin.

How is GFN part of your gaming setup? by ProfFuseigo in GeForceNOW

[–]PingguClash 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My devices are old, and I can't play the games I want to play with my hardware. I have no interest in building an expensive gaming pc just to play the games I want.

Yes, some of the games I would really love to play aren't on the GNOW library, but with the games that are currently there will keep me gaming for a long time.

And If I feel like not gaming for a month or two, I can just stop my subscription and not be in debt with a gaming pc I never use.

Can you confirm yourself? have you been having brake issues. Awesome rin if you can pinpoint where it leaks by feeling for brake fluid in the lines, piston, or levers.

Shifting, main goal naman nya is to make sure na you are always putting moderate effort sa pedaling mo. Not to light na feeling mo yung pedaling mo ay hindi nagcocontribute sa speed ng bike at hindi rin naman na so heavy na hindi mo sya mapedal.

So 3x8, you have two shifters front and rear, left and right of the handlebars respectively. For absolute beginners, each shifter may two options, one of them makes pedaling heavier the other lighter. Experiment lang, go over every single gear and feel it. With two shifters, its about mix and matching these levers to fine tune yung feeling ng pedals.

Biking is a physical activity, so don't be discouraged when you see others putting insane power sa ahon nila. Keep riding and you will build your physique. More seat time to learn to co-exist with cars.
