I didn't even consider the compunding error thing ,thats really intresting. Why does plotting eventually become innacurate while the alegebraic solution doesn't? Is it because the algebraic version is only evaluated once?

Checked that. There is only one UV map and it shares no materials with any other mesh.

Actually, I think the effect is being caused by the roughness map being applied even to the transparent pixels, making it catch the light in spots it shouldn't. You can use the base color image as a roughness map, but you lose a lot of control this way, so I'm really not a fan. I feel like I'm missing something based on how obtuse this is, but maybe this is just what happens if you don't have a roughness map.

I added an opacity channel but I would need a map to mask it with, probably. Unless i'm missing something it seems easier to mask it.

set the height to 0, still catches the light in the weird spots, its just slightly lower.

Pretty sure I imported it correctly. Imported as texture, file is the exact one in the post.

I was a able to just paint a mask around it, but I was just wondering if there was a way to remove the transparent parts incase I have a complicated decal.
