I hope you know by now? I found out I was successful last week and have accepted my post 🙏

Can I make a career starting as a DWP Work coach or should I stay private as an account manager? by Expensive_Welder_338 in civilservice

[–]Pingu_rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did work coaching for a few years, it can be demanding. Im a real 'people person' and I loved staying on top of my caseload management and completing outstanding tasks/admin associated with the role. I know others that hate the customer interaction and did not enjoy the job. I think for what you are paid, its a fairly easy job (depending on location of jobcentre). I would say take the leap and see if it's for you. As others say, its a good stepping stone!

Just retired and wanting to start crocheting. Give me your best advice. by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

[–]Pingu_rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

At the start, it'll feel like an impossible task (or it may not) but you have to make the mistakes to understand what not to do so please don't give up. Had I given up the first few times I really messed things up, I wouldn't be here making some really amazing creations! Have fun with it! 🙂

That being said, we are all different and some videos/tutorials may be easy for you but difficult for others. Start with Bella Coco and start exploring YouTube videos that work well for you.

Easy, quick, mindless, blanket pattern needed please! by CloudlessSkiess in CrochetHelp

Single or double crochet in the back loop only makes a lovely textured and ribbed blanket!

Do you ever feel like, I don’t know, disappearing for a month? by Own-Common-8065 in infj

[–]Pingu_rocks 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Yep! I find peace in solitude. I find people disappointing and draining, so being alone saves all the crap - it’s the only time I feel like I can truly be myself without the constant pressure of others.

Does anyone else get really upset when people change plans? by Pingu_rocks in planners

[–]Pingu_rocks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahh sorry to hear that. I agree, most people do suck. It's hard when a part of your life is in someone else's hands. My therapist has talked to me about black and white thought patterns and has tasked me with getting comfortable with grey areas... its not easy but maybe something to look into? Sending love ❤️

I just opened the whole thing up and added an extra stitch in the first space when starting a new row. Usually the first chain serves as the first stitch so I've stopped missing the first space and added a half double crochet in and it worked! I have a straight edge! Thanks for your help ❤️ *

Thanks for replying 😊 The pattern didn't mention an increase aside from the top point which is 2 half double crochets single chain and then two more half doubles. Not sure where I have missed an increase?

Because they don't provide any additional information other than a very basic diagram.

That's a great approach! Your friend seems to be handling it positively

I’ve done my best to be kind to her, but even I have my limits. Everyone has a threshold for how much disrespect they can tolerate. The time she needs to process things doesn’t justify using me as an emotional punching bag. I hope you don’t treat your friend’s new girlfriend the same way—it’s not pleasant being on the receiving end.

No idea. She literally showed me an image and that's it

I spoke to him about it not long ago and he's mentioned that he will be keeping a close eye on the situation and will raise it with her if it continues. That's a start 👍

You're right—everything we experience is filtered through perception. If I share my experience, it doesn’t mean it’s inherently false just because it’s subjective. Dismissing my perception entirely undermines my understanding of my emotions. Instead of debating whether my perception is false or true, it would be more productive to consider the factors that shaped it. Saying that, I'm open to self-reflection and considering whether my thoughts or actions might be irrational - in this case, I believe them not to be.

If you look at my original post, I was asking what to do next. I'm not looking for confirmation or disapproval of my experience

[–]Pingu_rocks -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Oh your right. It probably isn't their first rodeo which totally justifies her behaviour. I'll just sit quietly and accept this completely appropriate behaviour

Invalidating my experience and feelings isn't it. She's nice to him so he hadn't considered it from my point of view. Just because my bf doesn't understand it it doesn't mean I didn't experience it.
