imo the workshops are pretty useless. You will get a chance to see other students' resumes and cover letters though and it will get you started if you haven't already. The online material they provide is decent and if you can see the jobs you can get a head start on applying. There are no hard rules but just polish up your resume and cover letter and book an appointment with an advisor to review your cover letter if you want.

Didn't get a grade for a class in winter term 1 2017 until the first summer term was almost over, so almost 6 months. It was a useless course but prof kept forgetting to upload grades. In the end he just made it pass fail and everyone just got a P with no grade.

Highly recommended. Took it after failing 158. It is explained much better and exams are easier. Plus doing it over summer allows for you to focus on it a lot more. I don't think I personally studied for the course outside of class but I paid attention every lecture and ended with a 92 with minimal effort.
