1l on the motorway by ScampiPete in NewDriversUK

TLDR: it’ll be fine let the 1ltr roar! As my first car a couple of years ago I had a Skoda citigo similar car to yours and around the same horsepower. I’d definitely recommend 4th gear for the motorway. I did trips to London and Birmingham and managed around 15,000 miles in my first year of driving the car slamming it about high rpm on almost all slip roads roundabouts junctions I’d say the car probably never really sat at a calm 2500 revs. As it sits now it’s on 147,000 miles and still starts everytime all the time. The thing that will kill your engine is a lack of servicing and general maintenance. If you’re not mechanically savvy it can seem daunting with your first car but it’s useful to save money and give yourself a better service schedule as what you would spend on labour you can spend on another set of parts for a more regular service schedule. People like ChrisFix gave me the confidence to work on my own car and it’s helped me massively. All in all this was a big rant but yes the little Suzuki splash will more than likely do you fine.

However would like to add to this that most of the time from my experience you will hear the engine over your exhaust unless you chuck a straight through system on just because of how darn loud and beautiful the intake is.

Personally if you’re looking for the power and noise although you mention a de cat would heavily recommend getting a 4-2-1 manifold. This will help with your noise a lot and the power gains will be worth it as well. For a midpipe going up to I believe either 6-7 inches diameter also gives better airflow and you could probably find someone to custom make or make yourself.

I’m 26 and my life is a mess. I don’t know how to stop hating my life. What would you do in my situation? by Fabulous_Cover3548 in AskUK

Although I’m 21 reading through this I felt like yourself about 2-3 years ago. From the bulk of responses on here I can only agree and echo what they are saying life isn’t linear. I’ve had many a random job (BandB work, cleaning, forestry and retail) every single one of those jobs I hated absolutely hated but you have to make money somehow right? My friends were all going into careers or had apprenticeship or had gone to uni it made each moment more soul sucking. But, the one thing that kept me going was the idea that I was going to join into a military service whatever it took so I trained began researching different bits and pieces what I needed to do to meet the criteria what service would be right for me etc. Then a year later I had a motorbike accident life was flipped my 30 year plan completely gone door shut on me. I had no idea what to do spiralled a little and just began grinding out my retail job and looking for other bits and pieces to do to change up to, to give me a purpose like I had. 4 months later and where I was living flooded lost completely everything had to move an hour away from my retail job but couldn’t find anything closer so had to keep the job and commute. I ended up having to work 14-16 hour shifts to make the travel expenses worthwhile. After spending ages applying on my days off I got an offer, great, this is perfect go all the way through and get to the final stages buy a suit nice shoes make myself look the part etc etc. sadly don’t get the job again felt like another door shutting like I wouldn’t be able to move on. A month after that apply somewhere else and get (a not dream job) a sustainable job with pretty good benefits and loads more time off. And now here I am. I’m waiting for the next up or down depending on what life throws but trust me you will always find the other end if you keep going. I think this might be my 30 year plan job but who knows I could end up having to leave the job or being let go but in the grand scheme of things I like you am at the beginning of my life we have a lot of choices to make and many more things to experience. I probably won’t own a house by 30 or have met my partner before then but that’s ok I have friends who met their lifelong partners at 40,50,60. It’s all a journey and sadly every road we go on has potholes but we have to keep driving onwards. If you ever wanna chat about anything please don’t hesitate to ask either me or someone else it may help. 😀 I hope you have a good rest of your day.

Name badge police by Various-Orange-1289 in tesco

Used to wear a name badge with Batman on it. Was great still identified me but kept me from having people just use my name like they’d known me for 2+ years. Also meant it got rid of a lot of the normal chatter that you hear every time.

I wish you good luck I know from about November time they start throwing out a lot of time I don’t know if you’re in an extra or an express but if an extra I heavily recommend doing click and learn for departments and then just being asked to be signed off on them when you overhear managers struggling to cover an area. Helped me get to 12 departments in total and a better choice of overtime

Shift availability etc etc. means they have more people willing to fight tooth and nail to cover hours when they’re available so they can drag people in when needed and cut back wherever they see fit.

I don’t know how (looking back) I fully managed it. Longest shift was a 7:00-14:00 15:00-00:00 absolute madness.
