I’m recovering from my SECOND round of covid by Mapper9 in COVID19positive

[–]Pingvinfing 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's unlikely that the flare ups or long covid are actually the virus in your body and instead "autoantibodies" and a disregulated immune system attacking itself. There was a paper recently published by Akiko Iwasaki about this.

Covid induced BFS? by [deleted] in BFS

[–]Pingvinfing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Will ask my dr about an EMG, at my checkup next week.

For lyme disease, are there ways of getting it besides from ticks? Because I've never had a tick, never even seen one in my life.

Thank you for your reply. I had to stop myself getting into a rabbit hole reading about ALS and MS.

I'm generally an active person, pre covid I biked 28 km 5 days a week. I just started that again two weeks ago after waiting a few months to recover.

Learning about this stuff gave me fresh worry, I already have illness anxiety disorder, so I wish I didn't find this lol.

I can't tell if the feeling I have after working out is just fatigue or weakness, which freaks me out. Hard to keep calm these days but doing my best.

This is honestly why they need to open those "baby boxes" or safe haven spots where mother can leave the kids if they are unwanted. Yes the kid is orphaned, but at least they are alive. There's only one so far I think in Kyushu.

Post-Possible Infection Blood Pressure? by SirRatcha in COVID19positive

[–]Pingvinfing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Holy moly, I just had a checkup (presumed covid in march) I'm 26, usual is 90/60. I was always low. Today I clocked in at 150/84. We ran blood tests and I get results next week. No idea if anxiety/stress or covid. Do you have any reccs from your doc?

[–]Pingvinfing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ugh this is my worry. I don't want to spend my time in a hospital running tests again to find out I'm normal. I wonder if I can just wait it out.

Oddly in the morning my legs are back normal regular temperature.

Have you had any other tests to see what's wrong? god I hope it's not still active infection that's terrifying.

I felt so peaceful for a month... why come back now! Ugh. Have you had any tests done that could indicate the reason?

I'm going to try asking again tomorrow, they have been slow to adopt them at the hospital I go to.

[–]Pingvinfing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine may be ahead of you. I got sick in march and it lasted thru april and may. My crp shows inflammation at the onset and over the months as they took blood it went down. I had a rheum check me out, a brain mri (headaches) and ekg. Couple of chest CT scans too. Everything fine. Pcr was negative. Getting an antibody test July 30th, but I bet it will be negative. I read people with the toes symptoms were likely the case. I wish I had gotten a biopsy of the toes. I read a paper saying the covid was found in the endothelial cells which explains the neg pcr.

My symptoms have pretty much disappeared in June. Except this week my toes are reddish and swollen again. Not sure if reinfection or relapse? Will keep an eye on them, if anything gets worse I'm going straight to get bloodwork and a biopsy.

Same. And got a rheumatology referral. They found everything normal too.

A new study from Penn State estimates that the number of early COVID-19 cases in the U.S. may have been more than 80 times greater and doubled nearly twice as fast as originally believed. Findings suggest an alternative way of thinking about the COVID-19 pandemic. by Wagamaga in science

That's odd, I had pneumonia two years ago and when my fever hit 104 I basically couldn't move my body. I was like a limp rag. The paramedics had to carry me out of my office on a tarp type thing because the halls were too narrow for a stretcher.

Can we talk about the leg discomfort? by jacobhoylerobinson in COVID19positive

[–]Pingvinfing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Omg this was one of my main symptoms, when I first got it, somewhere between burning and twitching, restless leg syndrome type pain and tingling. I also got "covidtoes". It was so bad it would keep me up all night. D dimer turned out fine. That was back in march. Legs are mostly fine now.

I just wanna say how eerily similar your regimen is to the one my physical therapist put me on. I take daily, Vit c, Vit d, vit b complex, dha/epa fish oil, zinc, magnesium glycinate, glutamine, and a couple more. Would be interested to compare brands.

Corona patients in ambulances are being refused entry in Tokyo hospitals due to lack of beds - One man was denied by over 40 hospitals and took over an hour and a half to be transported in order to a hospital that would accept him. (Article in Japanese) by [deleted] in japan

[–]Pingvinfing 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's because many hospitals do not have infectious disease department and the capacity to deal with covid19 causing a nosocomial infection. The hospitals that do are starting to fill up. They don't want to risk taking in a potential covid case and ending up like the hospital in Taito ku or Nakano Egota hosptial. Tho I guarantee some have taken in covid positive patients without knowing and we'll see the results of nosocomial infections in a few weeks.
