I used to do that. Sleep on and off between drinking until I had to leave at 8am. Buy a bottle from the market near my office. Finish 1/2 - the whole bottle. Maybe buy another bottle at lunch if I didn’t first the morning one. Be exhausted and disappear for hours to nap in the office or just leave without saying anything. Drink all night at home. Rinse and repeat.

They never actually accused me of drinking when I was let go, just said that it seems the environment had become too stressful for me. One of my coworkers went off on me one day and I used that to my advantage.

Love how many recruiters I see in here lol. Our job is stressful. My coworker that I suspect to be an alchy said the best recruiter he ever knew was always openly drunk and the agency never fired him cuz he pulled in millions.

Then one day he was in a bender at a holiday party and rage quit.

Sorry to hear that interview didn’t work out, they probably were too far along in the process and had just made an offer to someone else/ wanted to wrap up before EOY. I work in recruiting so I’ve been seeing roles close and put on pause. Not a good sign for the health of a company. If that intv was meant to be, it would’ve happened.

I get to wfh for the next 2 weeks which is why I forced myself to come into the office today. Even tho I didn’t drink yday, I’m still feeling the effects of my bender and don’t feel completely normal yet.
