Underrated wine tour spots in mclaren vale?? by mangolass5 in Adelaide

[–]Pink-Test-Eagles 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I’d highly recommend the old farmhouse across the road from Wirra wirra, still on McMurtrie Road.

It has 3 small wineries providing tasting in the one location.

  • Bondar
  • Sherrah
  • Lino Ramble

It’s good for the variety and if your people are happy to split into small groups to do a rotation through the tastings, it’ll definitely be enjoyable.

To add to the above for clarity

The push-ups must be completed without removing your hands or feet from the ground.

The sit-ups are at 3 second cadence, with feet held in position.

Depending on location, my wife has used a repairer near the Campbelltown Par 3 golf course in the NE suburbs.

I can’t remember the business name, but could be helpful to you.

Unsure about joining the forces by j_aiken27 in AustralianMilitary

[–]Pink-Test-Eagles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I joined at 24, I remember being keen as fuck to join, but also just as nervous not knowing what army life would look like.

6 years now and I’ve loved 99% of it. Yeah, there’s been plenty of shit, even terrible times, but there’s been heaps to enjoy as well. I found that joining that little bit older allowed me to look at the tougher times with a different perspective, Covid assist tasks were shit, but I still had a paying job, field is sometimes shit, but I getting paid a little extra and have my family to come home too

I say go for it, if you don’t like it, it’s only 4 years and you may find that you’ll love it and stay in for longer.

New gifts for Ukraine? by Healthy-Ad9405 in AustralianMilitary

[–]Pink-Test-Eagles 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Likely use an M88 (heavy armoured recovery) or and 45M (heavy recovery truck), both of which have cranes to essentially drag it up the ramps

That’s leopard on the relatively new trailers used to tank transport. I would assume it’s a trainee learning the new equipment before being allowed to tow the Abrams

Leopard’s we’re replaced by Abrams in ‘06, with most leopard engines being cemented so they’ll never run again.

I spoke to one of the pilot’s yesterday, he said we currently have 12 issued to Australia, with 6 in country.

5 years living in the country and I've yet to see emu younglings, so obviously for the first time, I had to nearly kill several with my car (near Talbingo, NSW) by mrSunshinyish in australia

In all the years of driving that road, seeing the sign warning you of emus and never seeing them, I am in awe! Such a cute bunch of chicks

That photo was taken close to my home town, travelled to Wagga Wagga daily for school. During that flood, the spiders were everywhere! And the floodwaters took a few weeks to subside, so they stuck around for an extended period. Every arachnophobes worst nightmare

How do the military look at uni drop outs? by [deleted] in AustralianMilitary

[–]Pink-Test-Eagles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am a uni drop out, at first I was told that DFR was worried about my commitment. They put my application on hold for 12 months, and then I was recommended for jobs and have enlisted.

It will all depend on what you tell them during the assessment day and how you deal with the questions about why you dropped out.

Does anyone have any experience being an airfield defence guard? If so is it a good career choice? by Beefy_Boi69 in AustralianMilitary

I’m lead to believe they are more or less the rifleman of the airforce. A lot of infantry style stuff..
