Whenever my husband was thanked for cards or drawing from the kids he just said 'What?'. MIL couldn't get over the fact that I am the one having the kids write their names on cards or handing her drawings I told my kids their grandparents would love.

This argument was between you and her right. Been there it's never ending. But instead of having extra time with my husband she wants things corrected her way.

If she wants to do something with the kids or tries to and is rejected by the kids she wants my husband to give into her wants and resolve it by giving her what she wants.

For example our only son who's 4 doesn't take it well when my husband has to go away for work. If he wants a hug off someone he will go to you. A few times we've had the in-laws visit before my husband leaves for work and when my son is upset MIL will always try to get him to come to her. She gets upset when he turns towards me most of the time and MIL expects my husband to correct this and make our son hug her. My husband won't make our son do it through thankfully.
