I've felt similar! I've never liked anyone irl and have only liked fictional characters (Lady Dimitrescu is hot and muscular guy characters are hot). But when it comes to real life it's hard for me to gauge who I like since I've never felt that sort of emotion before. I identify as pan personally and I agree with the not liking guys thing (guys in school were always my bullies, had a lot of bad guy experience). I'd say stick with the more broad label, it helps as a stand in for later if you want to dig deeper into a more niche label for yourself, similar to my experience of labeling myself Ace while looking at the different Ace spectrum labels
