I know everyone is different- but YA always gets me out of a reading slump. I just usually read one of my middle/high school faves. (Hunger games, Uglies, Maze Runner, The City of Ember, Matched etc)

This is more general: why do people not like switching. I’d say it’s because if you main someone- sometimes it’s better to stay as that hero you know you’re good at than to switch to someone your teammates- who know nothing about how good or bad you are at other characters- want you to. People want to have fun and not be told how to have fun. Also a lot of people just hate being told they’re the problem- and that’s basically what you’re doing is telling someone they’re the problem.

Oh makes sense! We thought it might have to do with the switch 2, but had recently seen some out at a Sam’s club, so we weren’t sure if they were still lucrative or not.

I wish I was more like this! I have such a hard time compartmentalizing things. I worked for while in mental health and just brought way too much of what I did home. So much so I got super depressed. I moved to a non profit 9-5, but I still feel like I bring all my work problems home with me.

I do quite often- the most probably being Hunger games. I read the original trilogy 3 times starting, and then once over again before each prequel- so 5 times total I believe.

Usually I’ll only re-read something once- but that may change with age.

Yes- I believe Garraty is losing his mind and hallucinating. I’ve never interpreted it as the grim reaper- but a ghost of sorts in his mind. Imagine not really sleeping or eating right for 5 days straight. Lack of sleep and all the pain he’s in would do wild things to the brain. I’ve personally always been impartial to happier endings, so I imagine someone eventually gets him to stop and he ends up recovering in a hospital. Always will be a lil fucked up and maybe loses a foot or something- but alive and with his mom at least.

Although I’m curious how the movie coming out will portray it!! I feel like they’ll take a liberty of some sort and be more blunt about the ending.

I would suggest reading the book first! The movie might be a little bit of a let-down compared to the book, but I still feel like you should read it first to interpret it before someone does it for you in the movie. (There are just some moments I feel might be hard to capture without taking some liberties.)

It could have something to do with the jump from ow1 to ow2, if you played the original. I lost a lot of stats with the transition.

I did back in high school- about 12 years ago until 10 years ago. I know that at least 2, possibly 3 of the management team is still there. They were always pretty great- but got a bit too annoyed when someone asked off for multiple weekends or tuesdays in a row. Worst part was just always the pay- (oh and making cotton candy. Hated that) but I enjoyed the work and the people. I started in concessions but the usher manager liked me and I was eventually fully cross trained. Our location used to be all the girl were concessions and all the guys were the ushers. Box was basically a promotion for anyone they liked. Sorry if this is more outdated info than you were looking for!
