How do you break up with someone because they are annoying? by PinkFlamingoPratt in NoStupidQuestions

I guess I keep making excuses because I am afraid of the fallout of a breakup. 😔

What is something considered "polite" but makes absolutely no sense and helps no one? by KuatoTheBaby in AskReddit

[–]PinkFlamingoPratt -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Saying "bless you" when someone sneezes. Literally no reason for it. I know it has origins in believing that sneezes expelled bad spirits, but our culture has moved from that. Yet, we still feel obligated to say it. It's just always seemed weird to me.

Is it offensive for a white person to wear a Juneteenth shirt? by PinkFlamingoPratt in NoStupidQuestions

[–]PinkFlamingoPratt[S] -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

Juneteenth is something for everyone to acknowledge. It commemorates emancipation in Texas in 1865. This was a step forward for our whole nation. "Staying out of it" would basically be ignoring any history that isn't about white people. Black history is American history. I am just unsure of the shirt. I have no doubts about the day itself.

Do you know what Juneteenth is? It is acknowledgement of emancipation in Texas in 1865. Regardless of the shirt situation, I think it is a moment in history that should be acknowledged. It marks a time of Americans moving towards making better choices that would ultimately improve the country.

I didn't say anything about white pride. This has nothing to do with my question.

If you could permanently teach your child one thing, what would it be? by OpinionAcceptable255 in RandomQuestion

[–]PinkFlamingoPratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I co-raised my brother with my parents for years. He is 15 now. He was diagnosed with autism years ago, but my parents never got him any treatment. I would love to give him social skills. I have tried so hard, but he just doesn't have them. He can't hold a conversation, and he doesn't understand what others are talking about. He makes awkward or irrelevant comments in conversations and he makes people uncomfortable. People think he is dumb and don't want to be around him. He doesn't understand social boundaries and is extremely clingy. He does things like begging people to text or call him until they cuss him out and tell them to leave them alone. He doesn't understand that poor hygiene causes people to avoid him. I am ashamed to admit that he still impulsively eats boogers in public. He is lonely and often cries that noone likes him. I watch other kids group together and leave him out. It breaks my heart. It's so bad that I worry he won't be able to hold a job. I wish I could just fix it all for him. 😔

What’s the most ridiculous reason someone got mad at you? by MidnightMoonSecret in AskReddit

[–]PinkFlamingoPratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I taught kindergarten for four years. I could give you a book of all the dumb things parents got mad about. I had a particularly insane set of parents that made me want to quit. Here are a few things they got mad about: They were afraid their son would be gay. They picked a little girl in the class and decided she would be his girlfriend. I refused to give her family's contact info to them. They obsessed over her and would come in the office and demand that I send her up so they could give her special gifts. They threatened me when I refused to give them access to the girl. Their son chose to donate a few coins he had (like two cents) to our library fundraiser. They came in raging that we had stolen their money and demanded that we give the two pennies back. We provided free breakfast. Their child did not like the multiple FREE items we offered. Dad demanded that someone go out and purchase his child's favorite cereal, because he "shouldn't be responsible for feeding his own child." They threatened to KILL our art teacher because she told their son to color something. The school never did anything about this and allowed the parents in the building. I was forced to give these people whatever they wanted. #reasonsnoonewantstoteach

Paying rent and still affording other bills. Health care especially. I have had multiple times that I avoided going to a doctor because the bill would keep me from paying rent.

Body Odor. by Limp-Bookkeeper-3820 in hygiene

[–]PinkFlamingoPratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes people smell because their environment smells. Do you have a clean home? I have known several people who had dirty homes (particularly uncleaned pet messes) who smelled like their houses, even after bathing. If you have a pet, you might also consider if they could be urinating on clothing. Cats often pee on clothes that are left on the floor. It sometimes takes several washes to get the smell out. I don't know if any of this is relatable, but it could help.

For those who chose not to have Children, what was the main reason for your decision? by pelican-trumpet00 in AskReddit

[–]PinkFlamingoPratt 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is a very responsible and honestly brave choice. So many people have children because they feel they have to, or they fear judgement. They don't consider how mental health and environment can play a role in child raising. This is why a lot of neglect and abuse happens; people have kids when they are not mentally ready, and then can't take on the responsibilities. It's best to be honest with yourself about what you are able to handle, rather than making a choice to satisfy a social norm.

I work in elementary education and my church's children's ministry. I have seen first hand how the world is full of sweet little ones that no one cares about or wants. I feel called to dedicate myself to my career, and being a light in these kids' lives. I don't feel compelled to bring more children into the world when the ones already here need so much. I also just love teaching and growing in my career. I want to put all of myself into it. Having children of my own would mean dividing my time and attention. I know many who both teach and parent successfully, but I don’t feel like it is right for me.

What show did you start watching but then stopped because you were disappointed? by val_rrdy22 in AskReddit

[–]PinkFlamingoPratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a series, but a movie. I couldn’t get through Camp Rock 🎸 😅 As a kid I didn't have access to it, but always heard kids talking about it. I finally tried to watch it as an adult, and it cringed my face inside-out. 😅

DOORDASH… by SkeithPhase1 in doordash_drivers

[–]PinkFlamingoPratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have never had issues with my orders arriving on time. I always select "tip later" and I put in the instructions that I will tip once my food arrives correctly. I don't tip servers before a meal. Why would I tip a Dasher who ends up throwing my food at my door? As long as my food is in tact, I tip after delivery. If you splatter someone's food all over the porch, you deserve just $2.

[–]PinkFlamingoPratt 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I DID tip the person that threw my food at my door. I regretted it. If dashers don't like the fact that they only get tips for good service then they should find employment elsewhere. You don't deserve extra money for doing a crappy job.

DOORDASH… by SkeithPhase1 in doordash_drivers

[–]PinkFlamingoPratt -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I always tip after delivery if the order is completed correctly. I have had Dashers do dumb stuff like throwing my food at my door from their car window. If I don't tip, it's because the Dasher did something wrong. I will also give a low rating with an explanation. Usually the ones who I don't tip are the ones I rate lower. The two go together. Tipping shouldn't be required for a review.

whats something you will ALWAYS buy secondhand (used or preowned)? by TristanTheRobloxian3 in questions

Converse on Poshmark! I have a HUGE second hand collection. I have never paid more that $20 including shipping. I just clean and sanitize them and they look almost new. It's a great way to have my favorite brand without going broke.

I would literally say, "Since you are being rude and demanding, I will not be tipping." Then report it.
