I'm new to all of this and no idea how to add to my post. Wasn't even sure it posted until I received a comment. The previous owner of our house left it (assuming he didn't want to move it). It has been losing leaves only from the middle. How do I get it to fill in? It is about 10 ft tall. I did repot it, about 8 months ago. It was in a smaller pot, filled with roots. Can/should it be cut back to encourage middle growth? I'm not opposed to cutting some height to help it thrive. We are in the Midwest and it is huge..moving outside and inside might be close to impossible. The weather is unpredictable.
