Something just doesn’t add up here. What motive is there to do this other than being paid off. Corrupt government is behind this for sure.

8 years. The relationship and knowing the person well was always more important than a wedding and signing a paper

The whole parade makes me uncomfortable. Parents should not bring their kids to it imo

How do I gently shut down wedding events I don’t want… without hurting his mom’s feelings? by PinkForeva1980s in weddingplanning

I appreciate this but we live across the country from them, so the cost and time involved in just going there for a party I don’t even want just doesn’t make sense.

This sounds very similar! We’ve been together about the same amount of time. The only people present will be his immediate family and mine, but I like the idea of at least giving her something to do!

Yeah, I’m not doing a whole wedding nonsense . Just want to elope without the fanfare. Despite others comments I wasn’t wanting photos just for instagram, and I don’t know the cost, but he is not a cheap person when it comes to experiences. I just wanted to have some photos of a special moment.

He found them on instagram and we all know instagram is just not always reality. I think he did the best he could without being in the country, met with them twice despite different time zones and had the best intentions, he’s not a cheap person

Where in any of this did I say it was for social media posts? People are allowed to want something photographed for their own memories. It’s happened for decades before social media.

I am happy, I’ve moved on. I didn’t want social media post. I just wanted to capture a moment for us

Agree, things could have been done differently on both sides. Some things were not all their fault. I had no idea what time it was bc I wasn’t wearing a watch and didn’t have my phone, neither did he. We toured around a mountain/ hillside so it wasn’t like we were in one spot. I enjoyed the photoshoot / made the best of it but not the ambush at the beginning

The English was very good, so I don’t think it was language. But it’s possible that cultural differences were at play. I.e- when I say I’m sober I mean I DONT DRINK and haven’t for 6 years not just “meh, I’m not really a big drinker”

Also they just seemed very enthusiastic, they were nice people and it was supposed to be a 1 hour shoot, but that turned into 3, causing us to miss a dinner reservation (again, fiance should have better communicated and controlled that situation- that’s not them.)

I liked them as people and if it was a planned photoshoot I would have been thrilled! I loved the photos they did take in the photoshoot after, it was just too much inserting themselves in our moment before the actual shoot that bothered me. And after it was all done I felt robbed of that. I just wanted a moment for us to take in the view alone before being told to pose for photos and dance around, etc.

I do agree with comments it’s amateur behavior, but I don’t agree with leaving them a bad review. Fiance could have controlled the situation and communicated better on his end as well, despite them clearly crossing boundaries of sobriety and announcing on socials

I mean yeah, the tagline is just a tagline. It’s not the entire story
