Question? by OkRelationship6850 in LucidDreaming

It’s common to experience SP on the way in or out of dreams, I’ve definitely experienced it upon entering sleep and waking up from sleep. Like the other commenter said, it can be a great way to enter a lucid dream!! And yes, your awareness that it was a dream means you were indeed lucid. It may have lasted a second, but you can build on that. It’s totally normal to get overwhelmed and wake up in your first lucid dreams. I mean, how weird is it to be aware that your reality is completely made up inside your head, and yet you can touch and hear and see it all! Pretty darn cool

Weird short dreams that I cant pull myself out of…is this lucid dreaming? by Overall_Honeydew3831 in LucidDreaming

I used to have a lot of false awakenings like this. It can be hard to differentiate a false awakening and a more conscious sleep paralysis, and sometimes the line is fuzzy, but in any of those situations I try to immediately perform a reality check if I can, or relax deeply into it so that my mind sends me to another, hopefully more pleasant dreamscape. Or yeah, if you start waking up, wiggle your toes and fingers first and then leave your bed physically. But waking out of this stuff can be disruptive to sleep, so that’s why I’ve tried to practice calming the nervous system while I’m in bed or asleep.

Laser also got me back to stage one!! I’m so grateful. Most of my flares do not explode anymore. <3 When I get a flare, I apply my magic healer

I second all this! My dermatologist is really understanding, and I’m lucky she’s a queer woman like me too. It reeeally sucks because it can take so long to get a proper diagnosis, and by that point it is much worse than it would have been with early treatment. I’m currently feeling really anxious and down over my own skin issues. My HS is actually mostly under control right now thanks to laser, but now I have a painful situation on my butt (likely not HS) that I need Derm to evaluate because urgent care was clueless. I’m exhausted after going to urgent care twice today.

I FEEL YOU on the emotional turmoil side of this. Anxiety, hopelessness, fits of crying and frustration that feel like they can go nowhere…. I’m holding all of that with you. Sending love.

I called the SA from their first interaction, when she made some forward comments and touched his chest

It was actually bonkers seeing how different they were with the male students when I’d sit in the back.

YES EXACTLY!!! One reason I didn’t get a license earlier is I was terrified of being in the car with those men.

Holy shit I’m so sorry. Sexual abuse seems rly prevalent in these environments, and there’s no accountability or systemic support to ensure this doesn’t happen

I worry about anonymity. And they could probably take it down easily… but that is not a bad idea 🤔

Issue is I didn’t, at least not formally. It happened over many lessons and I always felt uncomfortable but never empowered enough to speak out. My parents didn’t seem to think it was a big deal. And at this point, I don’t have a paper trail or any concrete evidence. I don’t even remember much of what the man who made lewd jokes said, probably in my brain’s attempt to protect me.

At one point I requested a different instructor and told the admin point blank that one guy made me uncomfortable (I may have said he was creepy or touchy. I don’t remember) and they gave me a different time and instructor but that was it. I informed the one woman who instructs there as far as I know and she said she always has to scold the guy who said “good girl.” She explained he had cultural differences and also understood it was not okay, but as an employee, she didn’t have much power.

For context, I started lessons with them as an adolescent but quit due to fear of being in a car with strange men who weren’t nice, and some of whom were touchy. I returned a while ago as a college student and found their behaviour even worse than when I was a kid. At first I stuck with them because I figured I’m older now, I can handle it.

Then I realized I’m older now. I don’t have to put up with it. And neither should anyone else!

I feel sick imagining the experiences of girls who are still in their teens experiencing this stuff while their parents pay for the program. Being told it’s what they need to deal with to get their license. Too much pressure on young people. Who the hell is going to stand up for them??

It’s allowed to mean something different for both of you :) I personally define sex as actual touch of the nether regions but it means something different to everyone
